Best guitarist of the past decade?

I'd cast my vote for Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. This guy's absolutely psychotic on the guitar. Incredibly versatile and capable of blending numerous styles of music including jazz, Latin, psychedelic, and hardcore. The combination of technical proficiency and a taste for noise and experimentation makes for a formidable attack.












His earlier stuff with At the Drive-In is pretty amazing too









Then there's his more recent solo work, which is a lot more "free form" experimental jazz




What about you? Who'd be your choice?

 

I love the Mars Volta, but I'd have to disagree. I think Buckethead is the best.

And to be fair, Tom Morello's decade was the 90's.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez hands down.

 

I personally believe that Buckethead is the best. However, Eddie Van Halen still plays, and he out plays every guitarist in my opinion.
