Anybody notice the kid at 2:43 who is in the back row texting on his cellphone instead of listening to Mod MMG? :laugh: I don't know why that stood out to me, but it did.

On topic though: This video is actually quite fascinating. I'm about 10 minutes in so far when the old man starts asking questions haha. It is very cool to hear the Jagex Moderator's views on bots and the harm they cause to the game though, as I tend to get so engulfed in the selfish cheating side of Runescape from being around people on Sythe, RSBuddy, and from botting myself occasionally. I still am on the fence about bots, as I think they are fantastic for making better use of your time so you don't have to spend thousands of hours physically sitting at a computer just to be able to play the game affectively and have enough GP to do things. But I am happy they are taking such a tough stance on goldfarmers in the end, because those are the bots that really get on my nerves and affect my gameplay personally.

I was actually kind of surprised at how some of the Jagex Mods are actually fairly big guys and don't look as nerdy as I originally pictured them. If you look at pics of Andrew and Paul Gower, and some of the other skinny, nerdy J-Mods, that is kind of how I pictured all of them to be.

 

They banned 9 million bots in 2 weeks :O I didn't know there were so many.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. Those numbers seem so huge considering I've never seen 300k plus people on for consecutive days. It typically sits around 180k (before nukes) and it's hard to believe they've banned 9 million people at once, 50* the recent average in two weeks, let alone a year.

 

That touched up on a lot of questions I also had myself. Thanks for sharing this.

 

Yeah i watched this earlier and laughed about the 80yr old man gettin pissed he couldent get on runescape.

 

Was watching the bot busting video... got bored... decided to see what CC did (closed captioning)... started laughing cause google can't handle the accented English... then this gem appeared, which I now share with you.
