Although I haven't watched any, The Human Centipede 1 & 2 has got to be in the top ranks for most disturbing. But I think most violent film i've seen may be Scum. This is simply because it has been banned numerous occasions (Since release in late 70's I think it was).

    Good watch!

anyone who goes to watch scum, beware it is very racist and you may be offended. Don't want to get banned on the forum for racism.

    EDIT:
another clip, but may be offensive to some members, contains racism!

Hatchet 2 was really gory, especially since I had the unrated/director's cut version. Omg...when he cut that one guy in half and pulled his spine, etc. out of his skin....eww!

Human Centipede 1 was ridiculous. The acting was horrible, i had no sympathy for the characters, and once you got past the whole concept of the centipede medical procedure it was just downright boring.

Human Centipede ll however is supposed to be completely fucking depraved. Haven't seen it yet, but i've read reviews and it is supposedly ten times more graphic and reprehensible then the first. The new antagonist has no medical history//experience of any kind, so his victims are subjected to inaccurate schematics involving staples and ligament slicing, as opposed to a good, clean procedure. Im excited to watch it.

I'm surprised to admit that i've never heard of Scum before. Looks powerful though. Based on true events that took place in a British Borstal.. wow. Big fan of Ray Winstone also.

The Hatchet films are some of the first to be marketed without an official MPAA rating, which is super risky for the director- but i respect his decision to have good ol' unedited fun. I wouldn't call the two films disturbing in any way, but the gore is pretty over the top and the movies are enjoyable if you don't take them seriously. :)

Wow man, I am really impressed with you right now  I was about to come in and describe the fire extinguisher scene in Irreversible... probably the most disturbing and violent scene I have ever seen, and my first time watching it was when I was stoned out of my mind and like 15 years old lol. The second most violent movie I have seen aswell is probably Cannibal Holocaust. Really cool movie, but very disturbing and a bit too gorey for my taste. Although I saved it on my Ps3 for the future if I ever want to watch it again.

I'm not surprised, it was banned in a lot of countries because of the violence etc. I would give it your time if your a fan of Ray Winstone. I'm sure you will be able to get the full film somewhere on the net. Tell me when you have watched it. It is good and like you said, it is based on true events which took place in the every day life of a youth offender. :)

Most of the films i've mentioned in my first post, most notably Cannibal Holocaust have been banned from numerous countries, controversial movies never seep under the radar for me- Scum is an exception.

Ill definitely give you my feedback after i find enough time to watch the film. :)

Coincidentally, i also was around 14-15, and very, very stoned when i first came across the fire extinguisher scene on youtube. It gave me a severe migraine and bothered me for days. Finally worked up the courage to watch the film in its entirety last year and its my favorite movie of all time.

The Hostel movies got to me. There was one scene where the guy's ankles were snipped, so when he got up off the chair and tried to walk, his legs just completely separated from his ankles... That and a few other Saw scenes.

Yeah it definitely hit me pretty hard first time I watched it. I went back and watched it over again and I was surprised how desensitized to violence I am now :p I redownloaded the film though and have watched it twice already in the past few days.. SUCH a great movie, and I'm so glad that I went back and downloaded it after you posted this thread, because I never really got into it/understood the film when I was much younger. The film makes perfect sense now and my god, what a fantastic movie!

I really want to see "The Philosophy of a Knife" now after you posted it. I looked into Unit 731 and ended up spending like 2 hours on wikipedia and various websites reading about the attrocities and absolutely horrific acts that were commited against those people. Its just like all the experiments conduced by Josef Mengele in the Nazi concentration camps.. if you have never heard of these experiments before, go read up about them. It will make your stomache churn. I also watched some YouTube videos related to the afforementioned movie, including some scenes from the movie synced to creepy music, and I definitely want to download it and add it to my collection now. I was surprised to find out that the soundtrack was done by the guy from Daft Punk

Ps - It sounds like you may have a very good taste in movies in general, so I would love to hear what other kind of movies you like. Maybe you can reccomend some to me or we could do some swaps?

The movie "Teeth" is pretty disturbing, but not really one of the most violent films. It's pretty much about a girl who has "Vagina Dentata" and basically whenever she fucks a guy, her vag bites of his dick. At the end she pretty much vagina bites off her brothers dick and their dog eats it and spits our a piercing.

Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk fame did in fact compose the score for Irreversible. interesting fact; He strategically chose to have certain sounds/noises play at different frequencies, so each and every individual hearing the music will pick up different sounds at different times. The music during the Club Rectum scene is traumatizing.

I like all sorts of film, my top ten vastly range from different genres and thematic material. If you were to provide me with a small list of films YOU enjoy, i could then suggest a few in the same vein that might interest you. :)

Funny that you mention this scene, because director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) actually consoled in Gaspar Noe (Irreversible) , seeking out advice for a realistic head smashing sequence. The video i posted at the beginning of this thread was main inspiration for the elevator scene in Drive.

out of the ones you've listed, I've watched cannibal halocaust and brain dead...neither of which disturbed me at all...I haven't really found a movie that has what I am looking for...the clip you showed was ok...not really disturbing though and the camera spinning just annoyed me, I want to see it not have to look for it, if you get what I mean. (about the camera spin) I have seen a lot of real footage and such and still its not distrubing to me, its just not as exploratory as i'd like it to be in their killing methods...

Also, 3 guys 1 hammer is not "borderline snuff" a snuff film is a film of someone being murdered, on camera for the sole purpose of being sold...\

S.C.U.M wasn't distrubing at all and I actually found the remake/film based on that film (basically) they made recently "dog pound" to be a better film.

The Grifter was the worst thing I've ever seen, It's been a year since I saw it and I haven't slept with ease ever since...

A few weeks ago I went to see this splatter film called Hobo with a shotgun, and it was quite epic. It tells a story about a homeless guy in a town ruled by fear, violence and drugs.
