What is life?

Is it a imagination? Do we really exist? Do other people even think? Is it just one big dream?

Life is a spontaneous interaction of macromolecules in an organized fashion.

 

Life is the definition of 'organism'.

Or, for more complex organisms such as ourselves, life is consciousness experiencing reality.

 

I think it's just one big dream/test myself lol But all I know is I exist and I think etc.

Life is whatever you make it out to be. If you keep telling your mind one thing, it will eventually become so obsessed with it that it will have no other choice but to believe it.

That proves I exist to myself. It doesn't prove YOU exist to others.

There is a scientific and religious answer for this, I am going to take a wild guess and say you want the scientific answer?

If so, life is the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter. There are seven of these:

Movement
Respiration
Sensitivity
Nutrition
Excretion
Reproduction
Growth

Even so, if you are going to embrace this agnostic train of thought, saying that life is some dream/test because you can't prove your existence to others is like saying God exists because the refrigerator light turns off when you close the refrigerator door.

 

I don't see the similarity at all.

No one. NO ONE can definitively prove their existence to me, therefore I will NOT hold the notion that everyone (in fact) exists, besides myself.

 

ehh ive thought about this quite a few times myself. i honestly dont know, and i think the answer to start the finding of other answers is in death. most things cant be found without other things. and there's an infinite number of things to be discovered. so if there is an answer to anything my guess it would be in space, deep earth or death. (not promoting death btw)

 

Exactly. We cannot comprehend "infinity" but we know infinity has to exist so it's like one giant mind fuck.

Honestly we are just another species on this planet, and yes indeed we do exist, through pure thoughts and memories. You mean something to someone, so to someone you are obviously real.
Our brain is the thing which allows us to determine reality and whatnot.

 

Infinity is a concept, so technically it doesn't exist as a number.

On topic, if other's are aware of my movements, etc, then yes that proves my existence to them.
