A little bit of background for you; My mom and step dad are thinking about moving law firms which ultimately means I will move with them. I'm really excited about them doing this and have a few reasons why. I'm popular and preppy at my school I hate it. There all idiots, but I feel I have an obligation to be with them. I've always just wanted to be an outsider where I don't fit in so I can focus more on school and $$. I feel like this has given me an opportunity to do so and am really encouraging them to do it.

    So here it is:

If you could move to start over, have a clean slate, would you do it? And why

Definitely. Although I don't "dislike" where I currently live, which is your average suburban neighborhood, I'd much prefer to live in a more secluded location, like a mountain or a forest. Not totally isolated from civilization, but somewhere I can go out and have some time to contemplate life in the presence of nature.

Yeah I know what mean, like a escape from reality that's peaceful and quiet.
If I had a house like that, I would have to have another home because I would want that time to be special not something everyday and I would get tired of.

    Hell No.

I live in one of the top 3 safest cities in America (not going to say specifically which one).

The weather around here is always perfect, girls are all sexy, you can play any sports or do any outdoors activities you can think of within an hours drive, school is great, lots of fun and I have a lot of friends, perfect skate/bmx spots all around.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but those are the best :)

Overall just a perfect place to live.

My city is exactly the same (Raleigh, NC) but I'm sick of it. Time to yourself so underrated.

Anyways. At this moment, no I wouldn't. Life is fine. (Even though I'm an outsider at my school).
Although sometimes I would like to move to someplace similar to my city. One where there isn't as many thugs and sluts, but then I remember that I'm too quiet of a person to make any news friends. >_<

I don't mean to offend you at all, but I'm desperately curious... What is like? Do you just not fit in or do you just fit in with a low profile group? Instead of taking time to yourself do you instead just wish you fit in?

What is it like.. I'll answer that after I finish my homework.
Let me just say that I'm not like this

    or like this

edit: What is it like.. It's very relaxed and boring. I choose not to fit in because the majority of my peers are thugs who like to openly state that they use drugs and a bunch of annoying sluts. Although I have friends, it's only very little, and they tend to stay at home. From being isolated so long, I've grown to be quiet and antisocial. I'd never want to fit in with the people at my school.

Yeah, definitely. Not far though. I currently live in pretty much the "country" portion of Virginia. I have to travel 30 minutes at least to find anything to do. I'd like to move into one of the bigger cities, such as Virginia Beach. I'd say count yourself lucky you are popular and live in a nice area full of things to do, but I know what you mean. Humans are just never happy for extended periods of time... I guess we all enjoy a little bit of change every now and then :)

After I'm done with college I'll probably be moving to the West Coast though. Game developer at Bungie or 343 Studios here I come :D

I personally HATED moving, I moved 5ish hours from all my friends that I had known for ages, ALL my family, to a place I've never been before, don't have any family here besides my dad and brother.
If I had a choice in moving I wouldn't have, simply because moving when you're in the middle of highschool and not knowing someone is a fairly hard thing to do.

"The big move" was one of my biggest fears as a child growing up, and I am lucky enough that the big move occured when I was very young (before I started school), and my parents moved across Canada so my Dad could take a way better job. I grew up, made friends, and moved through school with alot of them and grew to know a ton of people in the city.

Being older now and out of highschool though, I feel alot less attached to my city. I am considering moving somewhere bigger down the road, somewhere with more opportunity and excitement, so I can meet brand new people and start a brand new life and follow a career doing something I'm interested in. It's good that you are excited to move and not totally the opposite, as I feel really bad for some kids who have to move around when they are young and have no say in the matter.

If I had the money to do so then sure, i'd be away living on my own, would be alot more fun. But until then im not moving an inch >.<
And if my family were planning on moving, oh bloody hell it would suck. It would all depend on where too. If it was a long way then I would be against it simply because of what I would have to leave behind, if it isn't so far, say like 100 miles then sure, I can handle that. Yes moving does bring new opportunities which I think is great, but if your older and have made a mark on where you live, then it will be very hard to detach yourself from it.

I would have wanted to move if that would have meant that I was transferring to another school.
I'm moving next year, but I'm not too happy about it.

The reason is that the universities that I have been accepted to and will attended are located around my current area. If I moved, then I would have to take a 30~40 minute bus ride every morning.
Second, I wouldn't be able to start over at all there. I can't just make random friends with strangers, unless I walk into a bar.

    Not too excited about it

I processed for the Air Force in Raleigh. ^_^ North Carolina is a pretty nice place to live, but I'm glad I moved.

I went straight from there to BMT in San Antonio, Texas. 2 months later, I was in Wichita Falls, Texas for Tech School. 4 months after that, I got orders to Japan. I was there for 10 months before deploying to where I am currently.

As far as 'wanting to move' I guess I can really say I'm always moving, and I really enjoy that aspect of my life so far. I'm a bit of an anti-social person, but I enjoy the company of new people. I was never preppy, or popular in high school. I'm glad it was that way, though. My friends were, and still are genuine.

Every new place you go is a chance to start over. It'll be great for you to experience the other side of the fence, as it were. Going from being Mr. Popular, to the 'new kid' honestly isn't fun in the beginning. Especially in school. Everyone tends to judge you right away, and it's really hard to get used to that. Depends where you move to, also. Your parents sound like they're well off, so I doubt you will move to a crap community.

I wish you the best of luck, though. :p
