    The most disturbing//violent film(s) you've ever seen

The ultimate, single most haunting film ever made in my opinion has gotta be Irreversible. This film is NOT for the faint of heart. Ill admit, i am disconcertingly desensitized to violence, and for the most part i can handle just about anything. This particular scene i've posted gave me a grueling headache the first time i saw it. The daddy of horror films, in the truest sense.

*If this video conflicts with the 'gore' rule, here on Sythe, feel free to remove it. I figure its acceptable because it has a context in this thread, and is fictional.

    Contenders;

A Serbian Film- Absolutely freaking depraved. No moral ground whatsoever, and a totally ambiguous if not non-existent message.

Guinea Pig series - One episode of this series was actually reported to the FBI, Martin Sheen was convinced that it was legitimate snuff.

Philosophy Of A Knife - Four hours of torture. A film covering the real life events that took place in Unit 731 during World war two. A facility where POW's were used as guinea pigs, having tests conducted on them, no painkillers. Believe it or not, many cures and general knowledge pertaining to disease was extracted from these experiments. Now you know where your cough syrup originated from.

Cannibal Holocaust - Excellent social commentary wrapped up in the infamous classic that lead the director straight to court for the authentic animal killings and speculation that the cast was actually killed in the making of.

Braindead (Dead Alive) - Peter Jacksons debut film, and an instant cult classic at that. Over the top gore, lots of fun.

    The beginning of Seed.

Shows real footage of a bug, then a rat, then a dog, then a human baby, then a human adult, starving to death. The cries of pain are horrific. It also shows the serial killer cut a dog between his legs and a dog with no skin on it's face (alive).

    ...it was terrible..

The director Uwe Boll is a notoriously bad director. In regards to the film seed, the footage you see at the beginning is all authentic, taken from the PETA archives. I thought it was unnecessary. I guess the director really wanted to establish that the killer was completely out of his mind, watching such atrocities.

The Green Mile was pretty violent, especially the part were he forgot to put water on one of the people in the electric chair.

I don't think that its really up there on the violence scale, but the scene you're referring to was quite traumatizing, i agree. I really liked that character, with the obsession with the mouse. That jailguard was pure evil.

Watch the clip i posted if you can stomach it, and you'll realize that The Green Mile was very tame in terms of violence in retrospect.

"Hostel 2". Terrible movie, incredibly gore-y.
I always remember there was a part where this chick tied some dude down to a chair and cut his penis off with some gardening scissors, and then feeds it to a dog...

The Hostel series are so bad, haha. Both films have the same format; First half being softcore porn, second half being exploitative violence. I liked Eli Roth in Inglorious Basterds, but thats about it when it comes to his film career.

Im a big fan of the Tetsuo series. I just recently posted a sequence from 'The Bullet Man' in another thread.

Bullet Man is pretty ridiculous, the acting is horrible, and the premise is considerably incoherent, but the visuals are definitely on-par with the rest of the Tetsuo films, and Trent Reznor (of Nine-Inch Nails fame) did a pretty badass soundtrack for it.

Darren Aronofsky, the director of films such as Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain, and most recently Black Swan was signed up to do a film in the same vein as Tetsuo, the project was unfortunately scrapped. Aronofsky subsequently was to direct Wolverine, which would have been fucking incredible, but he dropped out of that as well. God damn.

3 Guys 1 Hammer isn't a film, its authentic footage- and borderline snuff.

Not going to watch the video because I have such a weak stomach to see any sort of pain/gore fictional or not D:

A Serbian Film is definitely up there, even though I haven't seen it I pretty much read the entire script. Horrible shit. From what I've actually seen, Saw has to be the worst..

I've never been a fan of horror films. I can handle most of it, but I just don't find it entertaining to watch. Irreversible is pretty fucked up, but didn't bother me that much. I've seen parts of the Saw series, which is the worst I can think of at the moment.

They use an animatronic baby for the 'new born porn' scene, it's really, really fucked up.

Saw is too polished to have any real impact on me, the big budget, the contrived plot twists, and the mass promotion of it is all a big turn-off.

The first Cube had some pretty creative deaths, most notably the first victim when the film begins. The other Cubes were garbage.
