[MUST READ] Nexus / PayPal giving botters e-mail adresses to Jagex?

We have all seen this message right?
I am also one of the people who received it.

Now here's my possible theories on how they 'detected' us:

I think Jagex got our e-mail adresses from either PayPal or Impsoft.
Not illegally, but probably under some kind of law forcing them to provide the information to Jagex.

Don't flame.. this is just a theory..

As far as I've asked around on my msn, people who got the message
had the same e-mail adress registered on their account as their paypal e-mail.

If you have had the message, please post here to let me know
if the e-mail adress linked to your account is the same as your paypal adress.

 

The thing about the Runescape and paypal email being linked is interesting...

 

Talked over it on msn. Confirmed.

 

I doubt that paypal gave the information. Maybe the bot company the paypal email was used on.

Interesting indeed, just another step against botters taken by Jagex. Though most of it imo are just empty threats.

 

It's a scare tactic. The email that I used to buy NeXus bots got this email, but my main which I botted with NeXus did not get a message in the message center.

 

I only got one e-mail aswell, but that's not what this is about.

This is about your e-mail registered on your account being the same
as your e-mail you used to purchase your auth(s) with.

 

I have purchased auths with my Paypal, it's connected to the same e-mail as my main account on Runescape. I've not received any messages from Jagex, though I've not botted hardcore on it for the last ~3 weeks.

A friend of mine did some research. Maybe this happened?

both of my accounts received an email, and neither of them were registered, but i remember i bought membership and i linked the email. gg

i havent boted my main since 2 years and it got the email lol.

 

This was actually the theory I was about to post I got the message in my email and my main's inbox, but not on any of the other accounts I bot on.

I did not get the theory off rsbuddy forums,
but it seems someone else thought of it aswell!

 

I bought a lvl 138 from Kero, i'm 90% sure they were the same, i got the message btw.

 

Someone posted this on the rsbuddy forums, ofcourse unconfirmed.

"The court ordered Paypal to release the email addresses to Jagex of anyone who had purchased from Nexus. You didn't get "played", you didn't get "screwed", it was a court order in an ongoing case between Jagex and iBot. "

 

My paypal/rs account emails are the same, BUt i did not get any of these messages? i suppose rsbuddy clients did not get this.
