Nexus sold all your information to Jagex

Can anyone confirm this?

If you recently have received an e-mail from Jagex about being sued it's because supposedly Nexus sold all your information to Jagex.

I've found a lot of threads leading to the conclusion that Nexus sold out. That is why the letters mention Ibot and you will only receive this letter on the e-mail address you used to purchase the bot via Paypal.

 

Or the court subpoena'd the documents as evidence in a court case, and that is how Jagex and their lawyers obtained them. It has nothing to do with selling out

That could be the case. But i've read there is no such court case. Unless they have settled out of court. Also, they could easily subpoena all the botting companies if this was the case. I am just passing on what i've read from about 50 different threads online.

Anyways even though I might have started the fire here... I am just sharing the info i've read around rsbuddy forums, ect.

 

Ive bought 10 Rsbots.net auths, didn't get a single emial so. Apparently not.

 

It's not about rsbot... it's about nexus.

 

I got it on my main since I bot heavily on it, but not on any of my other accounts. I think it may have been because I linked my email to my main? I got the message in both game inbox and email

 

your stupid as hell... rsbot is powerbot.org.... he means the nexus bot from rsbot.net

 

Rsbots.net sells Nexus auths.


And the same with me, i've purchased many auths from rsbots.net(nexus) and I haven't gotten an email from jagex saying that crap that other people got.

 

though i've been botting for four months and haven't played runescape in 6 years... I am under the assumption Nexus bot and rsbots are two different companies.

Diamond supply I haven't received anything either for purchasing from rsbots.net. Then again e-mails will probably be sent out all day.


Anyways this all from what i've read... who knows what's really going on. But it seems that only nexus users are receiving this letter.

That information can't be used outside of said lawsuit.

I already stated that they sold people out when they first started sending them. That is why I assume nothing is being said really about nexus [ at least to my knowledge] and why jagex themselves said rsbuddy would be about the only bot group that this update would effect that would be back in action.

I personally never liked nexus they had ok scripters but their dev team was pretty shameful and I had heard a lot of hear say of things they were doing which if they were or not I can't back it up but it was from people I'd trust.

I must say rsbuddy even though I dislike them they earned some browny points on my side I honestly figured they would opt out before nexus. but then again it's nexus we're talking about they want $ just like jagex lol.

 

I find nothing that says you cannot use it, unless it were proprietary information (and the property of the bot company that is providing said information).

Added to that, it isn't like they are the police that have procedures and guidelines as to how they have to obtain admissible evidence. They have the information, it has already been in the hands of their lawyers, and they are using it. They would not be using it if they had no legal right to.

Tl;dr Suck shit, Jagex owned people.

i got the message also, but they didnt touch my stats so i dont care. but i used a different email and everything to buy my bots, so my theory is they sent that out to everybody that has had an account caught botting on their IP adress.

 

This was posted on Rsbuddy. Looks like Jagex might not of had the power to get the information from Paypal. Anyways a lot of good information was shared in the thread I have taken this from. This post was created by a law student.
