Modern Warfare

So I came across this today, and I wondered, could you imagine if Modern Warfare produced a film on the whole storyline of MW? Like MW 1+2+3? I really like this trailer, think they did a good job of matching the characters. But when in the Modern Warfare storyline do you think it's based? I think just after MW1 but before MW2 as Captain Price gets captured. Anyway you guys share your thoughts on the short film? Wasn't sure what section this should be in. Also, do you think they should make a film based in the Modern Warfare storyline?

It is a possibility, and I don't doubt that if someone sees money in this that they will pursue it. I REALLY would like to see a gears of war movie though. THAT would be really amazing.

 

Wow, nice short film. Not many games get put into films though. Although I'd probably go and see it if this was in the cinema.

 

A Gears Of War film adaptation might be too gory for you, personally. Considering the screenwriter and production company are going to want to stick as close to the source material as possible, there's really no way of working around the violence. Wouldn't be a movie for you, kiddo.

If they ever adapt Modern Warfare it'll be one big cash grab- most likely butchering the game without any artistic integrity involved. Hire no-name director and writer, and have powerhouse Jerry Bruckheimer slap his name on it- sold.

The story is compelling, don't get me wrong, but i don't think i could take it seriously as a full-length film. Might be too nationalistic, and it IS borderline unrealistic- the perilous situations depicted are over the top specifically to cater to an audience expecting an action packed video game. It'd be hard to write a two hour script about owning the Russians without being distasteful.

 

I think it would've of been a good watch personally. I enjoy the MW series. But I think Cronos is right about it being a cash grab. Hell, if Doom can be made into a film I think COD could be. Doom was a good game and watch with Dwayne Johnson.

 

It wouldn't be anything special. It would still just be your average war film. I never really thought the COD series had much of a story to it really. I would much rather see Halo, Assassin's Creed, and Zelda be made into films.

 

I don't know if Zelda could be done justice on the big screen.

 

Halo would be a good film, but the story to it is long, it would have to be a long ass film.

OT: I'd love to see Ross Kemp acting Soap and Vinnie Jones acting Ghost.

 

They had announced one at one point, but it is now stuck in early production stages. No word as of lately.

Are you trying to troll me or something? I couldn't handle the gore, what is that supposed to mean? And by the way a gears of war movie is already in the works, but is stuck in developmental hell.

 

I think it would be very popular a MWF movie.

 

A lot of people would go watch it, pretty much everyone who plays it maybe?

 

If you can't handle a little bit of creature violence from an 80's sci-fi flick i don't expect you to hold up well with a Gears Of War adaptation.

Speaking of that, weren't they supposed to be making a Halo movie?

 

I know I heard something about one being made a few years back, but I guess it got canceled. No idea why. They really need to get back on that.

 

I believe the person who was going to make the Halo movie went to make District 9 instead.

 

I would like to see a movie made about halo or call of duty and would certainly check it out

 

I would prefer a movie to do with black ops because of the campaign, story line was great.
