Just saw this in my message center...... I shat bricks.

 

yeh its been posted but its just Jagex trying to scare people imo cause they aint got time to file lawsuits to all botters also there trying to get back the money they've lost from goldfarming

 

It's a false threat. The amount that Jagex would have to pay in order to sue you would not come close to the amount they would gain from you. Also, they'd need to build one hell of a strong case proving you used that software, which is next to impossible. And even so, digital goods and services, specifically virtual goods and services, are very, very blurred legally.

It's a good scare tactic, but you're safe.

 

I'm not worried about the lawsuit threat. I'm more concerned about the loss of my account lmfao.

In all reality, I guess I should be counting my blessings seeing as I wasn't banned after all that.

 

If they've sent you an email AND NOT rolled you back or banned you, they're not going to do anything about it. If they were going to take action, they would have. They have a weak case and they know it.

The best practice you can use right now is to get a lot of your cash to a mule, and play legit for a week or two. The next month or so they're going to be assaulting bots left and right, and the more you play legit, the more legit you look on their records. Do a few quests or castle wars games and chat it up in clan chat for a bit.

The amount of people who have gotten this message is astounding. What is even more astounding is the amount who have never used iBot or whatever the hell it's called. They have no way of really keeping track of who is a bot and who isn't, which really brings me back full circle to their empty ban threat.

 

Well, I've checked every one of my other accounts (Which I've botted on as well, just not as heavily as the main) and none of them had the message. Also, I can't quest seeing as I've got the quest cape, and I refuse to do castle wars as that shit's boring as all hell. :s

 

Can't believe you weren't rolled back! Great luck. As everyone else has been saying, it's an empty threat. Still though, I'd advise you to stop botting or at least keep all your botting on a VPS where you can't be directly tracked back via IP. Better safe than sorry also, legit that account from now on. Would be a real shame to see a nice main like that get reset or banned.

 

The funny thing is, I botted dungeon w/ iDungeon on this account for 48+ hours straight on multiple occasions. Lol....

 

Why's that the funny thing? I'd quit botting unless you have a spare 2.500 $ x each time you've been caught.

I'd be pretty sad. I've had the account since like 2004, and I've spent a lot of time botting and even playing it legit.
