Some people may have difficulties logging onto the RS servers but, yes the number of player will and has decreased.

Only a matter of time before Mod MMG gets fired as CEO because he singlehandedly destroyed the revenue Jagex was bringing in and pissed off all the investors...

Nah just kidding, but I'm sure Jagex will feel it financially if they manage to keep the bots away. However, the steep decline in players online happens everytime there is a major update. If the bots come back, so will the amount of accounts online. We will just have to wait and see... I didn't explore too much of RS today, but it was nice having no bots everywhere crowding all the training spots. I could definitely get used to it if I had to :p

I agree and I'm sure some of the share holders may be a little pissed, haha. That is also true most players; even legit ones, are offline for a while after a system update. If they would of banned all the bots then this would of been a big downfall as their membership units would hit rock bottom. I'm sure more players will come back online soon, I'm sure most of the botters may be coming back to play legit also.

Some of the shareholders might be pissed, but I'm sure that there was a big boardroom meeting at Jagex headquarters before they decided to do this. I'm sure they are thinking that destroying the bots completely will be a smart financial decision in a long term sense... losing money for a couple months because of all the bots gone will suck, but with a better quality game there is a greater chance of longterm player growth, and building a large, loyal base of Runescape players who will continue to renew their monthly subscriptions.

When it comes down to it, Jagex is a company and making money is their primary goal. Whatever they decide to do with the game all comes down to how much revenue they will be able to pull in.

    You could be. ;)

They did announce that there would be certain server downtime.

    Noticed.

OT: It really depends on on-peak and off-peak hours from the images you've depicted.

I seriously doubt all 120,000 of those accounts had a membership. I'd say a good 80% of them were f2p. Not really losing anything there.
