So I don't even play RS anymore, but I got an email today that I initially thought was just a fishing attempt, but there's no links, it's purely text.

Last email I got from them was about the loyalty program, and it came from the same [email protected] address.

That is the email address they send out emails with.

They do not send e-mails about offences or botting problems, and e-mails can easily be masked and trick you on the sender. Do not rely on the fact that it's from [email protected] to assume that it's a genuine one.

 

I'm comparing the header of the email from a legit Jagex sent about the loyalty program, to the header of this email, and it's very similar, which is the odd part.

I don't know a lot about this stuff, so I'm no expert on email headers, and I'm not saying this email is real, I'm just saying they seemed to do a swell job if it is fake.

Anyways; Jagex never sends an email with "Dear Player" but always with "Dear ACCOUNT_DISPLAYNAME"

There's questionable things about it

For instance the grammar in this part "If you ignore our offer and instead continue use botting software" Improper grammar.

The use of "Dear Player" as you guys were saying , though they aren't talking about a specific account, but rather all your accounts.

I checked one of my accounts, there's nothing in the message box about this.

So either the person faking it did a pretty good job, or jagex did a bad job.
