How much do you think gp will go up? I'd assume that about 40% of the economy is on bots.

$1 /m at most, but it would level out below that. Probably around 70 - 80 cents /m.

tbh i dont know why it would raise in my case i keep botting on runescape but i cant even play legit 5minutes in a row since the game is totaly shits now. Ive maxed zerker turm just botting dungeon all day long.

So im guessing im not the only one even if i wouldnt get banned and bots are gone i wont play it anyway.

Also GP should drop since BATTLEFIELD3 IS COMING OUT IN 6HOURS!@@!@##@#$@#$#@#$!@#$#@

Will rise to say $1/M but the market will dramatically be smaller, leaving it harder to sell gp. This will lead to a price war between sellers and will eventually drop to .6/M

I'm hoping the update fails so the price crashes

I stated the reason why the prices would raise, and just because you don't play doesn't mean the 100.000's of other players don't Thats why gold farm sites can still sell for nearly a dollar a mill.

Also what does a pretty trashy game on xbox etc. have to do with a mmo? lol

I personally think that if what they say does some how happen [ which I don't see how they could ever stop bots like they're saying] prices would go to about a $1\m for average people and topping out at about $1.50ish\m for trusted sellers

First of all, Jagex will succeed at their plans for no longer than a week.

Do you really think a company who makes money selling bots is going to let some silly update get in their way? I personally have spent 200-300 dollars on bots.

Besides: NeXuS dev's have set a goal for themselves. 24 hours.

Nexus are getting wiped out completely, RSBuddy will be out faster then they will. It will take some coding for Nexus to get back in the botting game and I expect some backlash when it takes them much longer than 24 hours.

If they also include a mass ban for the majority of actual botters, prices could raise to upto $5 again like it used to be

Most of the gold isn't on botting accounts, it is on mules and even then there is more wealth in the hands of the legit player than there is on the botters.

    Here it is:

Botters sell botted resource ---> Transfer gold to mule ----> Sell gold to 'legit' (non-botting) players ----> Goes into RS economy.

With 98% of bots gone, gold will go back up to $1/mil or even higher. With all of the RWT gold coming from human-control goldfarming accounts, staking, merching, and other legit ways of making money, or from bots such as SCAR, Simba, and RiD, there will be a HUGE demand for gold, and very little supply.

Gold used to be @ .5-.55 before the update was announced, now it's selling at .55-.65, and that is before the update has even come into play. Once everyone realizes the true destruction that Jagex has planned, gold will go way up in value.

(Has sold over 6.5bil, and has ~2bil in stock, so I know how things effect the price of gold)

Jagex has never sounded this confident before, and Mod Chrisso has been seen saying that RSBuddy will be 'permanently' broken, and has included in these claims injection, ASM, reflection, etc. Before Jagex has always said, 'In an effort to fight botting,' rather than 'permanently break...' Jagex has never had the word 'permanent' in their vocabulary when talking about fighting bots... until now.

Also, Jagex wouldn't just make this update if it would only stop reflection, as all the bots who use reflection could easily switch to injection, etc, and Jagex knows this, so they wouldn't be sounding so confident if it was only for reflection.

I am excited to see the future of RS after this update, and the future of botting. Easily the best update I've ever seen Jagex release. <3

If you didn't notice I put the "IF" in capitals for a reason I know that it won't stop you can't stop bots from being made because you can always get around it you just need to add more code to get through the hoops.

I'm just saying if they did stop 98% of bots how much would prices go up to beings a lot of the economy is on our bots and not nearly as many bots would be around if the hypothetical took place.

You're wrong a Large portion of wealth are on the botted accounts. you're forgetting:
Mains training like herb\pray etc. more expensive stats to 99
    skillers doing the same
Botters who have not yet taken the cash off the bots yet [lol this will be me never been banned yet for botting in my 8 years or so of botting don't plan to stop for jagex now lol]

Also with this it's I'm sure a ploy to get gold farmers mules for RWT which will take off billions if it gets its hands on the big companies.

It will rise a fair bit IMO. As gold will be harder to obtain, therefore less sellers.

Well said Trent. As long as none of my accounts get banned I will be very happy with the update if they can put an end to bots lol. I'm a very good staker so I'd be able to make a great deal of money if the price of gp goes up a lot.

    $.6/m...

    Supply and demand.....

Why would demand change? It would likely decrease
Supply would also decrease... If anything a small (very small) rise in price, or stay the same

You say supply and demand then say something that makes no sense... lol

if bots are band = drop in supply = higher demand because not enough will be around for everyone. and if all the said bots are banned that would mean all the inflation we would have from all the botting would be gone which would just force more demand.

If all the goldfarmers are nuked for real, GP will definitely rise. Maybe not immediately, but definitely within a couple weeks I would guess that you would begin to see an increase and then from there on, depending on how severely this update actually affects the bots.

Highly doubt it will hit $1/M anytime soon or ever. I'm sure Nexus AND RSBuddy will both be up within the week regardless of how drastic the changes are. Considering the only decent bots are reflection and injection, there are just too many people willing to invest their money in quality scripts which will be more than enough to motivate client devs to step it up. How terrible would it be if all there was the awful color bots that are currently out?

I can already see the pressure beginning to build in the buyers forum. Demand should not decrease very much, as those who bought/buy gold do not gold farm, while the supply has been pretty much cut off. I'm sure there is a large inventory of gold that RWT companies still have to sell off, but once that goes... you can bet gold will be on its way back up.

If botting is truly done for good, I could see gold being near $1/M within a few months. I'm going to hold most of my stock and see how this plays out now. There's no point in unloading it now when I could more for it later (before it was the exact opposite).
