How many of you are going to quit?

If by some random chance in hell Jagex actually does end botting and goldfarming?

I for one, refuse to play this game legit. I bot my skills for pking, and if they ruin that then I'm going to quit. I quit when they took free trade away and didn't come back until they brought it back. The game is only important to me if I can play it the way I want to play it, otherwise they can take it and stuff it up their ass. /rant


So, How many of you guys feel similar to how I feel?


EDIT: I'm so tired of GP buyers/Sellers posting here saying "can't wait for you botters to be gone for good, you ruined the game" blah blah blah, If anything its the people who spend actual money for the GP they have on the accounts they use that are "ruining the game". Without the demand for GP and without half of you idiots talking shit about bots buying the GP, the botters wouldn't bot for the GP because they wouldn't be able to sell it, meaning the economy would be fixed, there wouldn't be any bots, and you wouldn't be here bitching about them.

No IRL GP trades = No bots (for GP) = No crashed Runescape market.

If anything, more people will return versus quitting. Everyone here knows botting was(is) ruining the game.

Well it may have ruined the game for me but I was going to quit eventually the reason I played was to sell like 30$ in gold a day but now I'm stuck with a bunch of accounts I too scared to bot on. Ill prolly still log on and pk every once in a while, but other than that I'm quitting.

It's fine that you feel that way, but it's not justified to be mad at them. Since you're wrong, and they aren't. There are private servers for what you want.

They aren't even claiming this update kills all bots, but it should revert the game to it's golden years.

 

I already level'd my characters and stuff so it's not gonna effect me at all since all I do is pk/stake.

 

I don't exactly see how it was ruining the game. The economy has sucked since Jagex created the grand exchange, and has never been player stable since. As far as achievements of the botted characters? Anyone can do it, bots just do it faster.

Since I'm wrong and they aren't? You should've probably rethought that before you posted it because you're basing what you just said on ethics which means there can't be an actual right or wrong.

Private servers suck, I enjoy the runescape community and like I said, I'll only play the game if I can play it how I want to. I wasn't bitching about "having to quit because of this" or anything like that, I was saying that I won't play the game because I'll lose interest in it.

And for them to revert this game into when it was actually good (in my opinion) they'd have to remove the grand exchange, but 90% of the newfags wouldn't know how to survive without it.

 

Using a historical analogy: several Roman emperors tried to restore the Empire back to the Republic glory that it once had, but none succeeded. Point is you are going to take something back to a 'golden age' when everything has already changed so much. If they are going to take it back to the golden age go back to right after they released construction and then we'll be at the golden age.

I've already botted almost all my skills to 99, so once they take it away, I'll just be happy with the xp I got from botting and I'll just play legit from then on.

 

I remember back in the old days you had to horde to get a huge quantity of everything, back when players had to actually interact instead of going to one place and put in an offer for something. That was the golden age, back when the game was a community.

You're upset because Jagex is trying to fix a mess that you helped create? Don't put this entirely Jagex. At the end of the day, you were the one who went to some website, downloaded a bot client, and began to break the rules.

 

Not just that, even though that was the main place for trading and merchanting.

You've also got seers village, which was big in player trading as well (nothing in comparison to w2 falador though). If you wanted to buy the logs for 99 fletching, you made a post about it on the forums looking for all the items.

If those are the times they're trying to replicate, I wish them the best of luck and I will continue to play. Simply removing the grand exchange would've caused the gold farming bots to go nuts.

You own a gold shop, you are just as much the cause of the problem as me or anyone else who bots/trades gold. They aren't going to solve anything this way, they're only going to screw up the economy even more that when they added in BH and the GE. If they never removed free trade to begin with things wouldn't have progressed to this level.

 

You only want bots gone so the price of your precious GP will go back up. Don't preach to the choir.

 

The end of botting is a good thing for all. Then when people try to talk, others will answer. I will definitely not quit playing. I know it will not be the end of botting, they will be back. Thing is, the break we will have from them (allegedly) will be enjoyed by the majority.

 

It'll be nice to actually train and have actual others to chat to(about ingame stuff, etc., not just outside). Right now it's almost a desert in most places(real player-wise) and it's a little tough to get things done if they require 'certain places'(you should get what I mean here).

This is probably what I am waiting for since I've kind of lost interest in the game in recent weeks.

Btw, I do agree with the whole G.E. situation as well. With updates like Dungeoneering, clan based stuff, etc., it's clear they wanted more player interaction. With that in mind, how do they expect that to be accomplished if they keep adding in things to alienate players as well.
