anyone have knowledge on photography or graphic design?

Idk ive always loved fucking around with editing software, Im not beast or anything YET but I catch on to shit really fast w.e I do especially if I like to do it.
basicly Im wanting to know the best way(s) to head into that carrer.


I also figured I would get my gf into photography for a few differant reasons.
the first reason is she loves taking pictures and posing shit for pictures as all girls do lol. but I figure if I really get into graphic design and later web design it wouldnt hurt to get her into proffesional photogrophy since they can go hand in hand.

Right now where saving up together to buy a decent desktop so I have awhile to figure everything out since obviously niether of us can/want do anything with a shitty laptop lol.

If anyone has any advice on a starting path for photography I would love to hear it. would also be interested in links to informative sites for either subject.

also any suggestions on how to make money off the bat with photography or graphic design would help.

advice on like a good quality camera for her to start out with would be cool too!

avatars,siggys,thread layouts (sythe gfx etc)
gb logos

the sites that pay you to let people use your photos ( Ive heard of em but dont really know any) also can you upload edited photo's on those sites?


just to avoid confusion im looking for ways we could make money while were learning about the field and getting experiance.
Not looking to make seriuose buck on anything right away.
just looking to make some money while we practice for the jobs we want.

I don't exactly know what the site is, but if you're just looking for somewhere to start you can just google "sell graphic designs online".

I use this site called triond http://www.triond.com/rw/454713 that pays you to write articles and upload photos. You could always use that to just upload your photos and ideas and get paid for that. You will also get feed back on your work.

I recommend Deviant art which allows you to share and sell artwork, for photo editing paint.net is good as a starting program relativly simple and its free =)

 

I didn't know deviant art allows you to sell artwork. I thought it was just for sharing.

 

Lol paint.net was a link to a link with a download of gimp. I already use gimp.

 

Out of the sites I listed if you just wanted to make a low income and get some feedback on your work Triond would be excellent. It's free to sign up. The easiest way to get feedback is by adding people. They pay every month based on your views, comments, and likes. You can upload artwork as images, or as an image in an article.

 

is it safe to assume by uploading your image to their site that they own your work? or can you post the same piece to multiple websites?

 

You may get the odd person who steals your artwork, yes. Oh, and I personally use GIMP, considering I'm poor as shit ;D.

 

They do not own your work. You can post it where ever you want. If you're worried about someone else saving and stealing your work, then you should watermark it with a signature in the corner or something.

 

Anyone have suggestions for what type of camera my gf should save for?

 

A lot of people go expensive for camera's. Personally, I use this inexpensive Kodak, and it works out fine for me.

Not all of the photos were taken with that camera. The pet ones and the landscape ones were done with it for sure though.
