The Price of Rares

After this anti-botting annoucement was released, all rares (h'weens, santas, partyhats) began crashing.
I thought with the less bots, the rares would go even more up?

So why do you guys think rares are crashing, and when will they go back up again?

 

People are liquidating their rares to buy commodities in the hopes that they can turn huge profits from those commodities.

BUY RARES NOW.

 

Just panic selling.. dont worry about it. Smart people are buying them up right now. Especially if they plan on banning accounts whom they previously caught botting on the 25th, which would undoubtedly take more rares out of the game.

 

If the bot things go through, GP is worth more then Items. And people want money to merch and such.

 

People selling rares to buy supplies like dragon bones, herbs and other skill items is only a part of the cause. With all these bots being banned and easily detected there will be less cash in the game. Don't fool yourself thinking alot of accounts with p hats will be banned because those people don't keep there wealth and cash on their bot accounts, trust me. The stupid minority might but most don't.

Partyhats and rares in general will crash becaus less gp will be generated by bots which will cause gp to go up in value. So partyhats will not "crash" but they will. It just depends on the way you look at it. The GP will just rise in value and therefor you will need less gp for the same hat. Same goes for armour, armour will go up in price for now and crash later on. After the crash they will stabalise but be worth less because the rsgp will be worth more.

The amount of partyhats, armour, sigils, godswords etc. will not change with bots being banned so any change in price right now is only due to speculation.

-Speculation that bots cause inflation and in turn affect rare prices
-Slight speculation that gp/$ will go up in price causing people to sell rares

 

Actually, if bots are killed rares will plummet in value. The RWT-value of rares has always been stable (if not slightly increasing), so their GP value has skyrocketed as the price of GP has dropped. If GP rises because of less supply and more demand (due to increased prices of items ingame) then the rares will drop down.

 

Looks like santas are rising again.

 

It's not the bot announcement that's affecting the prices
It's not an upcoming holiday that's affecting the prices
It's not an upcoming double xp weekend that's affecting the prices
It's the merchanters SPECULATIONS that affect the prices.

Sure items like logs ,fish and ore will rise in price, the lack of bots may have a little affect on the initial rise in price things like that happen over time the real reason for price jumps is because merchanters are trying to predict the prices in my opinion the real way to make money is to buy rares no matter what, I can promise you one thing a year from now every phat will atleast double in price. How do I know? because I've played this game for 7 years and it's happened year after year!

 

That's true, rares have always increased. But there hasn't been an anti-botting action like this until now. Bots do bring more gold into the game, inflating the economy.

 

This is funny, how many times since the G.E came out has rares done this? Especially h'ween/santas.

People are selling rares buying supplies (Herbs / logs / whatever else) as a merch.

Buy rares now/soon if you want to get them cheap. Also, what they're doing is they'll buy all these materials and they'll rise. Sell them and try to buy back their rares.

 

Everyone is anticipating a mass ban and stopping bots. This means things will be harder, but better for the economy. Things will go back up because they wont be as easy to obtain for those who purchase GP or bot for the GP. Rares are going down because it's going to be harder to get GP and 4b is retarded amount.

Look at it this way. When minimum wage goes up, the cost of living goes up.

When GP is easier to get, items are easier to get.

 

People are also selling rares because of the uncertainty of how the market will react to a "bot-less" economy.

Fact: The gold is still there, and thus can support recent rare highs.
Speculation: A bot-less economy will not be able to support current prices in the longer run for a good while.
