Obama to end war

In recent news Obama has announced that the war will be over soon.

How is this making you Americans feel?

Personally I think it's been a long drawn out process that should have been resolved a long time ago.

 

It's a little too convenient if you ask me, with his election in under a years time. As soon as our coalition government rose to office they announced a 2015 withdrawal date for all UK troops in Afghanistan.

 

They shouldn't have been there in the first place.

 

I agreed there mate. Don't even get me started on UK politics. Hate them ;p

 

I honestly don't care what his motive is, our troops are getting out of there and thats what matters. Hopefully we never start another war in the Middle East again...

 

I wish them the best.

 

Finally? This war should have never started and it's sad to see that so many soldiers died.

we've been hearing this since the 'war' started - i'll believe it when i see it.

and he said he would stop the war in Iraq, and he did, but then moved troops to Afghanistan.

 

This isn't the first time he announced the end, so why should we believe it this time? He is just trying to make it appear as though he is actually doing something so that he has a hope of re-election.

 

He's never lied about deadlines that have been set to be fulfilled within 3 months. All combat troops are already out and we're only leaving privatized troops in. He'll be working his ass off to get them out for the election, I still say it takes till Feb or March tho.

 

I'm sorry, but I could honestly care less about these stupid wars we are fighting. They have basically been forgotten by the public since they are so pointless. Get the hell out already.

 

It took him way longer than it should have. Also, the only reason that we are leaving now is because the Iraqis refused to grant our troops immunity to their laws. If it weren't for that, Obama would still have them there.

I'm really disappointed that he didn't work to leave sooner.

 

I feel like he's doing it now to get elected again.

People were like, "yeah vote Obama, he's gonna get our troops out of Iraq!" Then everybody voted for him but he never followed through and then they called him a liar. Now he decides to finally do it, just as everyone's campaigns are getting going so everyone will change their opinion of him and he can try to get reelected.

 

We are for sure leaving. I can vouch for that. I just spent 8 months in Iraq transporting cargo from bases north of Bagdad back into Kuwait.

 

Long awaited. My family has served honorably in wars including the World Wars, but this war was for money and power which is not exactly honorable at all. My Condelences to the people who lost family members and friends in this pointless war that should have ended long ago.
