Ignore list - Cannot post on your threads

Surprised this isn't implemented.

Obviously someone is on a user's ignore list for a reason, and no matter what section, their responses aren't wanted in the OP's thread. If I wanted to see someone's post in my thread, they wouldn't be on my ignore list.

I am well aware of the option to allow posting. If two users have an issue and someone that's ignored by another user wants to post on their thread, they should attempt to resolve the problem with that user or just get over it.

 

Just because you started a thread doesn't necessarily give you ownership of it. Someone you've ignored should still be able to respond to other posters.

 

Interesting thought but, the Ignore List came with the vBulletin package, it's not a different modification that Matthew or Sythe added into the site manually. And since it came with the package, it doesn't have that option, so, I doubt it can be done unless they add a modification that can do that which I'm pretty sure there isn't one. Anyhow, I don't entirely agree with Clashfan. Making a thread gives you ownership of it, but, others should be able to post their own opinions not for you to read but, for others to read incase if they have information about the topic that others didn't whether you care or not because someone might.

 

100% this. It's your job to ignore them, we shouldn't censor them from community discussions.

 

I agree to certain discussional points, and the fact that it's for everyone.
Probably changed my mind. The first things that came to my mind were harassment in spam forum and personal support possibilities along with sales threads.

 

Just because you dislike someone doesn't mean that they don't have anything to contribute to the thread. They could possibly be answering someone's question, or giving someone advice. And hell, scammers could add people they've scammed to their ignore list so they can't warn others on their threads. It could easily be abused.

Anyways, I basically retract my argument, ff to close.. I see the usefulness now, and the scammer thing is a HUGE point.
