Applications For OGV

Hello Guys,

As it was voted for, we have to decided to re-introduce applications for Official Guide Verifiers, this will apply also to the previous OGV members however they are allowed to include the fact that they have previous experience. We do not have an exact figure for how many we want but It will probably be about 10.

Qualities we are looking for:

A few things to keep in mind:

-There will be NO RANK or SPECIAL permissions from being an OGV outside of access to the private forums for the section. It is just a chance to contribute more to the site and demonstrate some responsibility.

-You must be willing to abide by the process and rules for verifying; if you verify a guide that should not have been, you may be liable to refund the persons who purchased the faulty guide.

-Do not apply if you are not serious and/or willing to put in the work verifying guides frequently. We will change out OGVs as frequently as necessary if someone is not pulling their weight.

How active are you on Sythe?: Extremely active, I am on around 5-6 hours a day.
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week?: Of course
Why do you think you are fit for the position?: I think I am fit for the position because I would say that I am fairly trusted, have been trusted with a good amount of money. I have contributed loads of scam and spam reports on ban evaders and spammers. I am a very nice guy and easy to talk to if anyone were to have a question about verifying a guide. Lastly, I have been playing runescape for around 5-6 years now and know a good deal about it.
Anything else we should know about?: I believe I have summed it all up.

How active are you on Sythe?
I'd like to say I'm pretty active, my PPD is low, but I didn't post properly for over a year, so that doesn't really reflect recent activity. I usually am on sythe for 3-5 hours a day, even more at weekends >:].
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week?
I'd be more than happy to. I'd verify anything I could that doesn't require a large IRL investment, as this can help the less fortunate not get scammed. Also, I'd love to help the community.
Why do you think you are fit for the position?
Since the last OGV application surge, I've upgraded to a $50 donor, which doesn't mean much, except for that I like giving back to the community. I have gained over 200 Vouches now, with 20+ being from trusted users, high donors, and 11 of those being Staff/Ex-Staff/OMM's. I strive to attain the best professional standards, and I'm sure that this would be a way to prove to people that I'm just more than the average joe, and I have more potential than most will realise. Also, since posting this application, 3 people have asked me to verify their guides over msn, so they spotted that I have the trust/potential

How active are you on Sythe? I check it a few times per day. Mostly scan through the sections I feel that interest me such as RS General, RS Cheating, RS Guides and the League forums now.
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? I'm willing to verify as many guides as possible.
Why do you think you are fit for the position? I've played Runescape for about six years, and I've had multiple staff positions on many other forums such as Maplestory hacking, coding and a few more.
Anything else we should know about? I'm an active RS player, who enjoys helping people. I'm really happy you guys had a guide reform though, as I really hated the old system.

I used to be quite active, and I started actively sything again recently, maybe a bit too recently to be assigned OGV.

I got plenty of time, so why not?

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
Whenever I'm on sythe I always do my best to be mature and help people wherever I can. I also have plenty of spare time wich I need spended . I also think I'm capable for the job because I believe I'm trusted, got ~170+ vouches.
I have quite some RS knowledge from the past and I could easily verify guides (if they are worthy getting verified ofcourse)

Extremely, spend at least four hours a day on Sythe daily.

Absolutely, I would be able to verify the guides very quickly due to the fact that I have many different accounts on Runescape suited for many different ideas.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?

Well, I've spent a lot of time here on Sythe, made a successful skilling service, recently started middle manning trades with my 40+ vouches I have obtained, and even touching into the gold selling business for a short period of time. I think this would be a great position for me to expand my activity on Sythe, rather than just coming on, checking some threads, and basically hanging out, I could do something much more constructive by helping my fellow new/old members.

Anything else we should know about?

I am a student in high school(junior) otherwise in Europe known as eleventh year. I am very easy to get along with and generally make a lot of friends given the opportunity. As stated above, I have some very highly experienced Runescape accounts from years of playing, which would assist me in verifying anything needed.​

 

How active are you on Sythe? Fairly I lurk mostly but post when it is called for.
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? Of course I am a student and have plenty of time on my hands. So yes.
Why do you think you are fit for the position?
Because I am a friendly person I am also mature and tend to be very honest which is my downfall at times. I tell the truth and would also tell people if there guide is not well written or the layout of the guide ect just so the service users get the best from it.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? I'm active on sythe and have never scammed. I wouldn't leak any methods/guides. I mostly keep to myself so I wouldn't have a reason to leak any guide/method.
Anything else we should know about? I was chosen to be an OGV last time but I was mistakenly banned. I work part time and go to school.

My experience: I've had experience doing almost everything, whether it be maintaining a shop on sythe.org (I've had multiple). Mainly my experience deals RuneScape and how to talk with people. I've played RuneScape for around seven years and have extensively researched almost all the skills.

My activeness: Since March of this year, I have been consistently online over 3 hours a day. I constantly talk with people on MSN answering various questions related to sythe.org and RuneScape.

Anything else we should know about?
I was banned and pardoned for the recovery of a RuneScape account (recovery happened in 2009, pardoned in August 2011). Since then, I've gotten way more organized - I can show all of my MMs and all of my personal trades (photos, videos, etc.). I already am acquainted with members of the old OGV team, and I'm ready to learn about the process of guide verifying.

How active are you on Sythe?while I don't do many trades I am on for hours a day reading and hanging out in different areas. I am on quite often though.
Are you willing to verify if necessary multiple guides a week? I would be glad to verify many guides, I am a very good reader.
Why do you think you are fit for the position? I have a lot of free time and I am a good reader so I think I am good for the job because I can effectively go through lots of guides and will always be very active. I also have played runescape for years and have gained a huge stock of expertise.
Anything else we should know about? I am very active on the site, usually on for hours a day and I will be very active at verifying guides.

Very - I'm actively on multiple hours a day, and when I'm not actively browsing, I always have the browser window open in the back in case somebody decides to me pm or an emergency comes up. I'd also like to say that although my Posts Per day are not the highest on the site, I had a window of a few months in which I didn't post much, and most of my posts these days are in the Donator Lounge + Spam Forum.

Of course, that's what I'm applying for.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
1). I have extensive Runescape knowledge. Having played since '02 or '03 (Can't exactly remember), I know most of the tricks of the trade. I also know many other websites where I can check guides aren't leaked.

2). My trustworthiness. In my one and a half years of being a registered member of Sythe, I have accumulated over 70 vouches, and MM'ed trades over 200M.

3). My activeness. I never deny a PM, and I always try my best to help people out when they need help. I post actively in the Spam Forum, and I try to help people out in the RS forum too.

Anything else we should know about?
I'm applying because I feel it's time to give something back to the community. I am a reasonably mature person. (I.E. some jokes are only funny when Gohan says them). I am responsible, as Oxodium if you want, even though I messed a trade up while I was helping him out MM'ing, I did my best to refund him his 100M. ​

Surely. Majority of my time is unused, so it'd be a great way to spend it.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
I'm one of the most vouched users on the site (well over 900 vouches), I've been trusted not only just with guides, but with also mass amounts of money (well over $200K in total, thousands of dollars of at once). I'm very active on Sythe and I'm very active on Sythe, and I'm knowledgeable when it comes to Sythe rules, guide lines, etc, and I'm very knowledgeable when it comes to Runescape.

Anything else we should know about?
If accepted, I wouldn't just simply verify guides when I have to, I would do them when they arose. I'm often contacted via MSN/Pm's about questions, which I always do my best to give correct answers to.

Very. I will, as I did before, consider OGV a duty and responsibility to the site's members and never shirk that duty even during times where my activity elsewhere on the site is low.

Have and will.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
Was previously in the role where others told me I did a good job of it and I made some minor, beneficial tweaks to the system. I have all the (rs and other) knowledge, experience, and common sense necessary.

Anything else we should know about?
I loved doing it last time and if lucky will love doing it as much this time.

 

I think there should be a rank to make sure people know you are verifier when you ask for their guide and not scammers.

How active are you on Sythe?
Pretty active. My PPD is around 10-9ish, and while I'm still pretty new, most people from my join date seem to have been banned by now...
Also I spend massive amounts of time on Sythe, So much I sometimes run out of time for anything else.

Yes, I could do shitloads of guides.
Why do you think you are fit for the position?
I'm not very trusted, so to speak, but I am definitely very community involved and I have served plenty of people in my GFX shop.
Anything else we should know about?
Not really. However, I would like Sanctuary to know that hating cupcakes is worse than murder, IMO.

I am on everyday, at least 7 hours each day from Friday to Monday and at least 2 hours a day from Tuesday to Thursday.

Yes I am.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
I think I am suitable for an OGV position due to my personal qualities such as my maturity level, my trustworthiness, my due responsibilities, my high activity levels and my awareness of the current RuneScape markets.

Aside from my personal qualities, I also think my communication skills and general knowledge will exponentially assist with the forthcoming OGV team.

I am a great guy, easy to communicate with and I have a well-based knowledge about any relation to RuneScape. I am well educated and currently attend University and will always have time to verify any type of guide(s).
