Jagex - "98% of all bots banned" [1.5M banned accounts]

Added an Rsbuddy topic outlining what Jagex has planned, not entirely sure if it's legit or not though, but it's a good read nevertheless

 

Wow this sucks. I was just thinking about playing again, but nevermind now.

 

HMM, if they where to succeed i wouldnt play any-more but i would still continue u sell and buy gold as gp prices would rise.

 

I have thought about this some more..RSbuddy seems very confident that this update will not effect them. I think it will and they are making sure they don't lose business

 

Botting is sad, wtf is the point in reaching an achievement even though you didn't do it.

Its ironic as I, a botter, who farms gold and doesn't actually play at all, see You as the "sad" guy who thinks he is "achieving" something by getting levels/items in a game.

 

Jagex is friggin crackin down hardddd. Got banned on my 126 with 7 99s. FUUUUUUUU

 

Imagine a bot as an egg? Jagex has as much intelligence as a youngin'

 

Really look at all the people who freaking out, its hilarious.

Also they'll make a good point not banning botted account, why?
They crack down bots , they cant bot.

Alot of us wants to play after the update legitting.

Its not a big loose on money for them isnt it?

@OP: I mainly think it's a bluff, They'll ban a lot of accounts for sure, but won't get rid of macroing.

I read someone's opinion on this earlier where there said that this is just a scheme for jagex to ban all f2p accs/ gold farmers so that they have to buy more membership for new gold farming accounts.

I think that's the most sense I've heard out of this so far lol.

The botting community is saying JaGeX is bluffing.. but I'm not sure whether to believe this or not.. perhaps they don't want to lose their customers?
I guess time will tell..

Also decided to edit your OP, Snow, such that the pictures Decoda had assembled would also be reflected - I felt that they were not insignificant.

 

They don't want to lose costumers? People have many accounts at a time, and I don't think 1 million people play RS, it's just people's multiple account getting counted. And the situation now is, there are more bots than legit players, then it means that majority of that 1 million are bots, and Jagex will ban MOST of their customers? No way. They're a business.

 

I sit with arbiter on this matter. They get way to much money through bots

 

I can't wait to see if this does actually happen, it'll affect a lot of aspects.
