Who here takes "hard" drugs?

Media in Australia portray hard drugs such as methamphetamine a junkie drug. How does your local media portray drugs such as these? Do you do harder drugs (pretty much anything above shrooms/acid/weed) and what is your opinion on the effect of harder drugs on your local society/individuals?

I live in a neighborhood that is portrayed as bad by the media and certain individuals. There are hookers at every corner, infact... I am staying in an apartment temporarily and there are 2 tranny hookers standing less than 50 meters in front of me right now, selling their ass... and there are a lot of drugs. I have only lived here for 6 months though I have witnessed the extent some people go to just to get their next hit - heroine and GHB are the main contributors here.

Petty crime is a norm between the real junkies (I personally recognize a junkie as a person who injects ANY sort of illegal drug) such as stealing batteries (which are used to cook meth) and a huge sex trade and with this mentioned I believe that the majority of society often do not fall victim to crime due to hard drugs. I believe that hard drugs only effect the individuals who take them; some obvious examples: poor living environment due to lack of money, psychosis/bad mental effects, just being a general junkie aka walking up to people in the street asking for $20 to get their epilepsy medication which is obviously being spent on heroine.

I don't inject. I do meth, speed and cocaine on a regular basis. (mainly due to the fact that the work I am involved in pays in drugs, I am NOT a drug dealer) and I would like to know what you think.

So it's safe to say you're not addicted or even take hard drugs at all. Do you have a bad view on individuals that take hard drugs?

 

Personally i don't take any illegal drugs, but if someone else wants to take drugs thats up to them as long as they don't endanger or harm other people.

 

I don't do drugs, but if thats how you roll its fine with me just dont bother or harm me or my family is how I look at it.

I know a bunch of people who do cocain just to fit in around here.

I'm from Holland and whe are prety open minded to drugs. Whe can buy any type of pot in the store i do those sometimes. For hard drugs i havent done it for a few years but i have used cocaine xtc mdma speed lsd. Pretty fun but i quit those, Just pot for now. Its all prety good tought, You just need to know yourself and dont get addicted.

 

Please don't take it personally but you are a perfect example of a typical city kid whom has been influenced by the media and/or your parents & peers.

Instantly I can assume with good confidence that you're under the age of 18 simply due to the fact that you still feel that all people that take drugs are losers.

I can also tell you (though I understand you won't believe a random drug addict on the internet) that the media emphasize and generally over exaggerate drug related stories to influence the youth of today and of course the general public to not take drugs and to try and stop/reduce drug use. Why? Well, I could go into a big conspiracy theory about how the government control the media but I will give you a simple answer: because society doesn't like drugs.

 

I've done pretty much everything. I've never found a drug that I didn't like, though shrooms and GHB are definitely my least favorite. I'm surprised GHB is popular where you live. My main drugs of choice are heroin, meth, acid, ketamine, and xanax. I would say meth is definitely the most looked down upon drug in the U.S. and the only one I've seen commercials for on TV.

For the past 3 months I have been doing meth a bit more often than usual - every day in fact. Despite that I can honestly say I am not addicted to hard drugs at all, it's completely recreational and I never pay for the drugs. I've been wide awake for 187 hours so far and I can stop smoking it at any time. At this point though, I have a lot of work to do as I have just funded a large project and need to work many hours on it daily, so I will decide to keep smoking

 

GHB is shit. I got given a litre of the shit last week and I gave it away. It's generally used and loved by the prostitutes, I guess as a way to escape from the fact that they're fucking for money...and of course it increases libido.

I have never tried heroin and do have a bad view personally on people whom take it but I would never judge/abuse somebody for taking heroin. I know cops who whack it, who can argue with that?

Yeah I can see that. Such a shitty drug. I haven't even seen it around for a over a year. Heroin really isn't that big of a deal and really not any different than any other opiate. The only reason it's considered worse is because it's usually injected. Meth is definitely much easier to get addicted to. It's not necessarily more addicting than heroin, but it gets you hooked faster than any drug out there. I'll binge on it for days and there is no way in hell I can bring myself to stop until I run out. I also have to have a benzo on me to get through the comedown.

There are heaps of reasons why society hates drugs. I will give you an example that won't contradict my earlier statement that the media makes society hate drugs.


One big reason that is not usually expressed is jealousy. Homeless drug addicts for example; something somebody who does not take drugs may think "this guy doesn't have to work, he does fuck all, asks ME for money and spends it all on drugs" Then there's the other aspect that all the rich fuckers take drugs which is somewhat true, the cool rich fuckers do anyway and then a different type of jealousy sets in. There are heaps of reasons why society hates drugs.
Of course, both homeless drug addicts and rich and famous drug addicts both make hard drugs and the middle class drug users look bad.

 

I did cocain for about 8 months straight. Probably tha "hardest" thing ive done. Ive always smoked weed, and took a few pills here and there.

I used to sell weed on a regular basis, it was easy money. Untill me and my friend decided to try to sell coke. We had a good connection on it, so we bought a half ounce for $400. We quickly found out that it was very good, atleast for tha stuff around here at tha time.

We then bought an ounce for $700. We would sell out in like 2 days everytime. A little time later, his step dad taught us how to cook it up. (crack). We were trippling our money now, but it was becoming more and more risky. People were wanting this stuff bad, and they were showing up at crazy hours, without even calling me. So i decided to get out of it, and he did too shortly after.

I never really judge anyone for doing a certain type of drug, even if i myself would NEVER do it. Ive met people who you would never think did drugs, who did.

Im now 20 years old, this story was from when i was 16. I live in Louisiana, united States.

Everything else I ve done because i was in high school and i was exploring.

From my perspective it sounds like you are starting to form a habit of addiction to get approval from the outside that meth is ok... no matter what country you live in these drugs are the same effect and same side effects. Meth will leave you completely homeless in due time, heroine is not as bad but its pretty bad because at least meth head's can get shit done. You have been up for 187 hours? everything you've learned in the past 187 hours will not be remembered for the rest of your life, you need to sleep to get your brain to keep those thought-processes inside the brain for future use. Listen I am just a guy on the internet who the fuck cares what i think about the drugs right now? for all you know i could be a drug-dealer trying to get you addicted or an cop trying to get your arrested. Or a cop drug-dealer trying to get you addicted and then arrested, this world is pretty fucked up... so why live in a state of mind that you cannot think and protect yourself from those things? the longer your in a state of mind of being "high" the more your body will become used to it and the more prone you will be to using it everyday because you will learn to cope with it and your tolerance will go down. Just some food for thought man, try getting a real job and obviously you have had it hard or still going through tough shit, but its the people who can leave those things behind and continue on life that learn to be a million step's ahead of today's idiots.
