PlayerAuctions Management: Please Report Problems

I sometimes find threads like this where a user lured someone else to doing off-site trade with a direct payment through PayPal.

I am in management, and I want to make sure that people get banned if that ever happens. It doesn't matter that no trade was documented by our system.

Someone scammed another person outside the system, I still want to ban them. This is about protecting the community and making the right decisions. This is also about making sure that scammers themselves have no system where they can operate. If they use both websites, they need to be reported and banned at both websites.

I also want to hear about it if there is ever any problem which goes to our support crew but isn't fully resolved. They aren't in management so some of them may lack experience with virtual goods. They do their best as hired help but sometimes something needs to go to management so it can be reviewed by someone with more experience.

If you could confirm identity, like Karl mentioned, I'd be more than happy to help out with what happened over at that thread. My trade with him went smoothly through PA, but like you said, he used us PA sellers to lure others into doing direct PP trades and then reversing them all.

 

So what kind of relationship does sythe.org and PA have? Do they share ban lists?

 

As of now, none.

No ban list sharing at the moment, but it is something that management has considered in the past (making the PA ban list available to others and potentially checking ban lists from other sources).

PlayerAuctions doesn't have relationships of any kind with anyone right now. However that's kind of silly because a lot of fraud can be prevented by being able to talk to other services and share details.

If this is legit, I'm extremely interested in seeing where this goes.

 

It's actually difficult to work out compelling business arrangements (at least for sellers) because our commission fees are set at 10 and 15%. Someone always has to ask themselves, "Why should I do anything special if I already get X% for free?"

We are interested in business relationships of all sorts, however we have a different manager handling that. I'm in tech, but I do sometimes get to develop something that requires a partner.

So far, the closest thing we have to a business arrangement on site is when we sell advertising space. Imagine going to ebay, selecting 'Televisions', and there's a promoted auction from Phillips. We're doing the same thing by just promoting an offer.

One thing I am working on right now is a special program where potential sellers can get instant cash offers on their account. I.e. we make them an offer to buy it at a reduced price so they sell instantly, but we can flip it for a profit. We want to be able to outsource that to someone with extreme experience with accounts. We have a partner in line for wow, but haven't found one for RS accounts yet.

We're also working on improving our security for account trade. I know that RS accounts are different and should be treated with special care for things like verifying remaining recoveries, correct info, bank PIN, waiting 14 days to reduce recoveries, etc. I want to hire someone to write a detailed guide so I can update RS trade policies and processing.

 

Rpg, I am more then willing to update your RS trade policies, I know most if not everything about runescape and how the recovery system works.

 

rpgreseller, who do I contact to report someone to PlayerAuctions? I know of a member who was banned here on Sythe and on MMOExchange. I believe he was banned on PlayerAuctions as well and he has another account now on PA.. I want to make sure he gets banned for good.
