Why did you start playing Runescape?

Was introduced to the game by a friend in Jr.high circa 03. I've been playing on and off ever since.

 

because all my friends were then i got hooked

 

I was young and didn't have a console at the time and didn't play video games too much, but I LOVED them. I remember some kid coming over to my house and showing me this browser adventure game that you could play right on the internet, and create a character and walk around and fight monsters and stuff. This was back in like 2000 when it was classic and runescape looked like Paper Mario, but worse lol. But I immediately thought it was the coolest game ever and began to play it all the time.

It wasn't until RS2 came out though that I got 'addicted' and started playing every single day, sometimes for ridiculous amounts of time. That is also the same time I had gotten a bunch of my friends into RS so alot of my close friends and I secretly played it away from school

 

I started playing Runescape back in like 2002 because I heard someone talking about it. I'm genuinely a nosy person.

 

acctually a friend showed me this game and since then well i'v always been around

 

I started a few months before halloween masks were dropped.
My friend at school told me about the game.
He said his brother found Runescape and was already at the smithing lvl to make Mithril armor.
He assured me that this was a great accomplishment.
He is a pot smoker/really good story teller and thoroughly convinced me that RuneScape was cool.
He even sketched the friends toolbar to show me how to add him.


I loved the game back then but recently its been a love/hate thing.
I have been addicted ever since but I will always miss the good old days.
I have a few friends that still play but the one who got me hooked stopped years ago.

Some guy showed it to me, and I liked it because it was the only MMO I could play on my crappy computer.

 

True story - seen some kid playing runescape at school had no idea what it was but I looked over his shoulder enough so I could see the name because I saw a guy in full iron which the whole medieval theme drew me in. After school it was my brothers turn but I asked him if I could go on the computer to show him a game, him being younger declined so I told him to go to the website and check it out. Big mistake he started playing into my computer time and we've been addicted ever since.

And that is why I started playing ruIneDLIFEscape.

Friend showed me it, and gave me an account he made for me. First couple of days I would just wandering around Lumbridge, and I couldn't figure out how to get inside the castle. This was back in 04, good times.

 

Because of friends mostly; one of them still play.

 

My neighbour played it and got me interested in it now we both play and we own everyone pking muhaha Im happy i played rs its a good hobby

Personally, it became an addicting game for me. And it's one of the most popular games.

 

My closest friend got me into it, took me a whole day to solve tutorial island (2004).
