Market after the 25th.

With the implications of Jagex's current announcement regarding bots, how do you feel this will affect the market? The general thought is that GP will rise, which in turn should make items drop in price... Such as rares? If people begin panic selling rares the prices will drop by quite a bit... But is that the smart thing to do? What is your opinion?

 

If people panic sell rares, by what I assume you mean is in rs, it will do nothing. Rares merchants will just buy them out. If you meant for real life cash, it won't do anything. All GP/Rares are valued at the same. If bots can't be brought back, gold will rise quite a bit.

 

This isn't going to be some kind of stock market crash, there's so many items circulating within the game that nothing will happen. Personally, I think the bots will be back online within 2 days. Sorry to say it, but if a human can play Runescape, so can a bot. (Developers will just keep upgrading their systems, and therefore Jagex will never win this fight.)

 

Yeah, they'll be proportional to each other, I'm not sure why that slipped my mind (focused more on the Blizzcon panels, lol.). I do feel gold will rise, I'm just not sure by how much exactly. A lot of people are speculating $1/mill. Could be pretty interesting how this turns out for awhile.

Prices won't rise. The economy is too inflated.

 

I'd say there'll be an initial panic selling and buying, but prices will stable themselves out right about where they are now. I could see raw materials like pure ess rise a bit, as the supply will eventually fall quite a bit without bots. If the value of gp does rise any, materials will rise with it.

But like Deadmau5 said, the bots will probably be back online within a couple days.

 

They haven't stopped bots yet... I see nothing to worry about, bots will be back online within a week of their super update.

If Jagex actually pulls off all the things that they are claiming, it will definitely have a huge impact on the RS black market. I can't really predict the things that will happen but my guess is that GP will rise quite a bit, and the demand will outweigh the supply. I am still skeptical though whether Jagex will actually be able to stop all bots. Who knows.. They seem more serious this time than ever before though.

 

How would this affect rares? If anything they would be more expensive.

I think raw materials would rise a little. The reason I say this about 2-3 months both rsbuddy/powerbot were down for nearly 24 hours that day I couldn't get anything I wanted from the GE like teleport tabs, ect. It was almost completely sold out unless I paid x5 the price and even then product was limited. But then again I could be wrong because there is a possibility prices will stay about the same because we will buy less resources since we have to skill/no life by hand.

 

Already I've seen a change in the economy.
People buying whips 700k+
AGS' rising
And others already on the rise, this "bot-nuke" will greatly affect Runescape and I personally think it's for the better.

 

Can't wait to see what happens and no, I dont think the prices will rise

 

2008 1m was 3.5-4$. Nuff said.(not many bots cause of craters)
