Hey all, with this new update that's coming out next week if they really do manage to squash the majority of bots that mass things like iron, yews, drags, etc., what do you think is going to yield the highest earning potential for people who are investing now?

I'm personally torn between whips and d bones. I dont think pure ess is going to skyrocket too quickly because there are so many people buying it out right now that a few days after the update everyone will be trying to dump it. Im thinking D bones are the better option because people are always going to be trying to buy prayer & once the bones are used, they're gone, unlike whips that stay in the game virtually forever once they're acquired.

Anyway, I've got about 30m to dick around and play with and wanted to see if anybody had any better ideas as far as what to put their money towards over the next few weeks

Frost dragon bones would be good too. I wouldn't recommend doing armor or weapons, stick to things that disappear after they're used, planks, etc.

Dragon bones and frost dragon bones will be greatly affected by this. But, who knows maybe this update will prove to be a flunk.

I didn't even think of planks, I don't visit Varrok East too often so I don't see the masses running back and forth. Frosts are already going up some since the update mentioning making it more difficult for bots around there the other day, I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how this changes the in-game economy

My final internal battle now is whether to put my money towards Dbones or Frosts

lol, I was literally about to make a thread about this. I'm really uncertain about this update :/ I'm in two minds about it.
Half of me says buy consumables (fish, wood, planks, potions, summoning secondary ingredients, cannonballs, runes etc.) and then sell them a few weeks after the update. However my other says that Fagex are just lying again, and that if I did buy all these consumables, i'd regret it when they crash due to Fagex lying.

If you were to invest in anything, i'd say frost bones or d bones are the best option. Probably frost bones in all honesty. Or possibly nature runes for alching and b2p which are commonly used.

I don't know though, what do you guys think? :/ I reckon I might invest 3/4 of my wealth in natures or something. But there's also food too, I mean food is always a massive consumable. Or sara potions? :(

I know, it's driving me crazy. I'm going to go with D Bones over frosts because I think the amount of d bones I'll buy should be about 8.5k and I'll make more off of 8.5k d bones rising 1k than I would 2k frosts rising 2k. I think at least, I didnt do the math but I'm not overly concerned, end of the day it's all pixels and waiting out the update will give me time to work on some of my cores like dungeoneering and fishing

Hmmm, i'd say to go for d bones over frost bones simply because of all the people that have botted 85 for resource dungeon. I reckon if both frost bones and d bones rise in price, d bones will be the most popular choice to buy because they're cheaper. I'm guessing more people would do frosts legit because of the high price and better GP/hr than normal dragons. I'm going to buy 80k d bones I think. I mean tbh, if most people had this idea and bought up the d bones, i'm sure the price would rise anyway due to the high demand. If that fails I finally get that 95 prayer i've been promising myself :p

Dragon bones + whips, I know the concerns but whips WILL, most definitely level out at about 1M/ea if the update happens. No one really legits slayer anymore, they just farm the profits. Dragon bones > Frost dragon bones, less risk for your cash pile, if you had 100M + to play with, Frost dragon bones would've wielded more profit. Good luck nevertheless.

They're going for 3964 minimum right now

Think it's still worth buying them at 4k each now?

Buy at 3k/ea Via the forums, you won't get any on the G.E, trust me...The amount of gold people have spare is just tremendous and the stock will be bought out by next week. You'll still end up with 1k profit per bone, maybe more.

Nah, you should invest in a common consumable that most people will overlook. Buy WF vials or nats or something :p I'm not paying 4k per bone cos they used to be that legit years ago, they should naturally be less anyway cos of frost bones now. If anything, I reckon all armour will crash because people will be selling it for consumables. I'd get rid of your armour while you still can and keep rares and consumables if you can. Nats and oak planks are my next investment plan lol

Yup, that's what I'm doing, final decision ended up resting in 60k oak planks.

If all else fails, I'll have a fuck-high construction level

haha :p, oaks looked high to me so I just went with nats and coal. Cannonballs were intriguing. They're really low at the minute and like.. majorly dropped. Still, let's just hope this stupid update actually works now! Without all those double nat crafters i'm sure natures will go up. Maybe red chins too o.o so many to choose but we still don't know :(

EDIT: I'm buying 100k lobsters, bowstring too. At the very worst with lobsters, if botting isn't stopped, cook them and make 12gp per :p

as i was saying in another thread close the the same subject...i would prefer rares since theres not gonna be alot of them and even tough they have hard times they will eventually end up as worth as a party hat was before :)

Fury (orn) always fluctuates from 20-30M over a months time. I buy them low in bulk, and sell them off when they hit 30M. Easy money. Brings in a good 50M a month.

I suggest buying something that you can actually use afterwards in case they do crash. Also I personally would buy fdk bones.
