New rares in the future?

When holiday items, the most common rares, were introduced, they immediately became popular. Since some people didn't want them,they were selling them for around 10k. However, people began mass purchasing them, causing other players to get mad. This happened many times, with lots of players complaining, and so Jagex announced that there would be no more holiday events. As we can see, they brought them back later but those items are non trade able. There will be no items such as the party hat or Halloween masks coming new, but there will be items with high value that will be obtained as drops.

In other words, no, there will not be any new items like the party hat or Santa hat.

 

100% correct on this.. I remember them saying that as well since some players are upset they cannot obtain such a valuable item

 

I doubt there will ever be a new discontinued item..

 

^ Completely this. I think people are getting confused on the difference between discontinued items and rare items. Something that's just released, such as when nex gear was released, those nex pieces were rares than some nex items, but they were never considered as "rares".

At time there are some what "rares", but I highly doubt they'll be anything that falls into a forever rare, like crackers, disks, eggs, pumpkins, partyhats, etc.

 

Dunno if it's been said but they said they'd never put back RWT and wilderness etc.

 

I think the rare items like phats, santa's etc were never intended to reach their current values and so I highly doubt Jagex will put anything like that in the game from now on. All the new holiday items are untradeable and rather worthless (not to mention lame)

 

Even if they released another discontinued item the players would be aware of the investment and there would be thousands of the item stockpiled so it would take years before it was actually worth something.

 

There'll be more high valued items released like torva was etc. But no, there won't be any more rares

No.. Jagex will probably never make a tradable unobtainable item in the future. Besides, if they did people would harvest millions and they would be worthless.

 

Never again will there be any discontinued items. Jagex says.
