By doing this we could cut down the number of spam posts insanely. It prevents noobs from getting their post counts up just so people will think they are active in the community and then them turning around and scamming and getting banned within a week. Go to the music section and tell me the last guy to reply on EVERY SINGLE TOPIC....a bit ridiculous. Having around a 15-20 post limit for normal members would be nice. No limit for mods and up. And perhaps all donators can have unlimited too just to maybe add to the rewards of being a donator.

If people get scammed because they trust people with a high post count then they deserve to be scammed and should learn something from that.

This isn't ever going to be implemented, there is absolutely no chance. If somebody is spamming, and you know it; simply report them and a mod will deal with it.

That's not the right way to look at it. Newer members of this community can be easily decieved, you shouldn't have to be scammed to learn a lesson.

Isn't it such a hassle to report a spammer when every single topic i go into has multiple spam posts. I honestly would no even bother reporting half the spam posts I see. Stopping spam as a whole is what my idea is implementing. Also, new members really rely on post count, no matter if they should or should'nt.

How do you learn in life, by making mistakes. The mistake is getting scammed.

I'm not saying its ideal but limiting the number of posts isn't either.

No support whatsoever. There are plenty of reasons to post frequently, outside of urges to raise post count, but because of many things, such as bumping many threads (if they run many services), interest in a thread or section, replying to multiple people over different threads who have targeted a statement towards you, answering many questions, and even all of the above at once.

Also, if there was a limit, and you happened to go over that limit and then got scammed, you wouldn't be able to post a scam report, leaving the scammer free for another 24 hours in which they could scam many other members in your situation.

No one deserves to be scammed like you stated in your first post mate. And this isn't just to stop scams on new members... It's MAINLY to stop all the spam posts on threads and use of bandwidth, etc.

Isn't this why we have a PM system? I'm just saying, how the hell can you get 20+ posts in a day? You can only bump once every 48 hours unless someone else posted which would pretty much be a free bump?

This isn't going to happen. There's no reason to limit the number of posts that a person is allowed to make. Spammers will be dealt with when they are caught, but limiting the maximum amount of posts a user is allowed to make is just ridiculous.
