Blocked out some stuff since I'm still going to be in the fc for a couple of days.

edit: The pic is just me botting at soul wars and someone asked the mod in the friends chat if he is looking for bots and he says no there are too many.

In the screenshot you can see a player moderator accepting defeat and admitting to the futility of combating bots because the vast numbers of them overweigh those in opposition, trying to report each and every one of them.

I can't believe moderators are finally understanding that they can't ban every botter out there, they shouldn't even attempt to. They are just setting themselves up for failure! ;)

    lol

All mods should just give up now, and let the development team take botters into their own hands, see if they can do anything.

Someone on the ground-floor needs to be reporting these bots so that the developers can analyze and interpret how their macro programs work exactly, and keep up to date with the latest in botting. If all bots were left unhindered in-game the development team would have to personally play and find bots to analyze. A big part of being player moderator is the duty of keeping the developer teams up to date.

As you see in the picture, that mod gave up, and I know for a fact many others did to. They can't analyze how they work by setting there and watching a player run back and forth because every bot looks the same when you are actually botting etc, when actually they are different.
If you get what i'm trying to say.

If the development team can acquire one username for each and every premium bot being put into effect by that user, thats all they need to record patterns, and characteristics for that bot. By that point, they'll be able to identify any other users with similar patterns and characteristics in their keystrokes , etc. Using the information gained, they can make updates that'll prevent bots from going about the way they're programmed to.

As for a small amount of people being banned each day; Although it may seem tedious and futile- its still a scare tactic that works on others. Someone may be considering botting, but once a close friend of his is banned he'll have a change of heart. If Moderators completely give up on the fight, bots will be virtually untouchable, and eventually everyone will jump on the bandwagon and cheat.

    lol

Well, it's not really a scare-tactic because alot of people are still doing it, they know there is a possibility they could get banned if caught, but they insist on continuing to bot.

Jagex will never be able to defeat bots. They might limit them for a little bit but they will never be gone for good

Scare-tactics aren't going to phase everyone. Those that aren't botting are either afraid, or refuse not to because it contradicts the whole point of playing Runescape for them- accomplishment , and lack of if they were to bot.

I've noticed, considering half of the Runescape community bots, and I know, i'm one of those legitimate players, I have not used a bot one time, and I refuse to do so.
