Runescape ending!?

As long as Jagex are making any sort of profit on the game, why would they shut it down? Regardless of how shit it's become.

 

Lets just put it this way . If it wasn't for people that bot jagex wouldn't make nearly as much cash. I'm sure they could ban every botter if they wanted to. But they just ban a few every now and again to keep the nerd legit players happy. As long as jagex are making a lot of cash they have no reason to close runescape. I personally wouldn't give a fuck if they did shut it down though

 

This is the ignorant shit that makes the game shitty in the first place, JaGex make more money from advertisements on their website than they do from Membership sales. Community events such as 'Runefest' make cash too, and the Merchandise ect ect. People botting the game for their own profits aren't viewing the advertisements because they use the client based version - Thus not viewing the advertisements. The so called 'contributing factor' to the amount of money JaGex make from botters is irrelevant because the gold farmers obtain their membership 99.99% of the time ILLEGALLY, JaGex DO NOT profit from illegally obtained membership, they LOSE money.

Where is your evidence? Players in game? Friends? Forums? I'm kinda curious.

 

I don't think the game has "ended" I just think that alot of people have turned it into a business... And it's really annoying when your trying to play the game to have fun and most people are bots :/

 

When the economy collapses. That's the time you can expect rs to go down

 

They make enough from advertising alone i reckon, seems to be ramped up for past year? It is just a business now though so misewell bot and get the most out of it (im lvl 138 and never botted).

How exactly will the economy collapse? Rates will continue to go up, as will everything else.. It's like in the real world, do you think when everything gets more expensive, they'll just close the world down? Lol.. The economy won't fuck rs up, if anything it will be the community that does.

Personally I don't think rs will ever "shut down" if jaGex doesn't want it anymore I dare say that they'd sell it off to blizzard or somewhere, because rs is the biggest online game in the world...

I think WoW is the biggest online game overall.

 

WoW is the biggest online MMO ever, and has continued to be for longer than I can remember. But I dare say, when GW2 comes out WoW are going to lose a lot of custom.

 

Jagex will probably update the game so that doesn't happen.

 

Jagex makes way too much money from Runescape to consider shutting it down. Stellar Dawn is a completely different kind of game geared for a completely different audience. I doubt it will have any effect on the the amount of players in Runescape.

As long as people pay Jagex than the game will stay alive, we'll see how well Stellar Dawn does and if Jagex abandons Runescape.

 

if anything jagex is making more money with the botters around, why farm with 40 f2p accounts when you can just as easily make the same if not more with 20 p2ps.

 

I believe like a lot of things in life, things change over time and you either go with it or you get out.

I have played almost from the beginning and have seen many many changes that have had a large impact on the game and each time it has led me to other games such as wow or FPS(games) or it has been a positive for me and kept me playing but doing something else or the same thing differently.

I'd imagine the people complaining are those that remember rs2 how it was and still holding onto that memory wishing it wouldn't change but also finding it difficult to accept the new change.

In my opinion there is no end in the near future for runescape. Stellar Dawn will be different to rs and a lot of players that quit to try it, will only come back because rs as it is now is closer to your pre-existing memory than a completely new game.

The same happens to WOW every time a new MMO is released. People will stick to what there used to and enjoy.

 

i can assure u if jagex were to shut down runescape world riots would occur

1) bored mental addicts go on riot to hunt down The JMods to slaughter them

2) Boredem more gangstas on street e.g

3) All bot & gold farming sites shut down blah blah blah big impact

 

Jagex would never shut Runescape down, they are making too much of a profit. If players quit paying for membership, then it would be highly possible for Jagex to do so. I just want Runescape '06 back.
