Would You Start A Fight?

As in, would you swing first?

I've always seen starting a fight as a sure sign of ignorance, and it's something my mom has always taught me. If you can't defend your beliefs or values with your words, then you're pretty much stupid. I understand, though, using force in self defense or in defense of someone else, if they are being physically abused at the time.

I have 12 years of martial art practice from a dojo I registered and a little more practice in japan where I had a college student exchange kind of thing seeing as I believe fighting leads to more conflict I don't see why I would start the fight. I'd keep calm as I tell to all my challengers I only fight when I need to not because I want to. Fighting is Ignorance. Plus seeing as I have many years of practice its pointless and I will most likely win. lol

People get belligerent and when they do they become unpredictable and dangerous. Better they get stopped before they hurt somebody else i always say :O

 

My best friends used too be terrible like that! would get hammered drunk and want to fight literally EVERYONE and ANYONE, we would always have to take him home and put him to bed ROFL

Starting fights is for down syndromes and drunks.
Why fight about what you can calmly talk about.

 

I have only been in one fight, and I am guilty of starting it. He was talking shit or something (you know the usual) and I pretty much said fight me or ill fight you.

Not sure why I was so pissed off that day, but I have not had a fight since. I don't like fighting I think its stupid and pretty immature.

I agree sadly now-a-days people call you a "pussy" if you don't fight.

 

I've started a couple of fights, mainly because they have annoyed me(my mum is dead, and I get really irritated when people say your mum jokes to me, which while everyone in my grade knows that she's dead they still do it). I've learnt to ignore it enough to keep my self out of trouble now though.
Nowadays I won't start fights, let alone throw the first punch.

 

Thats good some people can't control them selves sometimes and go full rage on lol

 

Totally depends on the context. I would NEVER start a fight if they hadn't already taken some sort of physical action against me, or someone i believe they're picking on simply because they are aware that they're weak and could beat them. Really, fighting should only occur in the defense of yourself and others; thats what i was taught, and that's what i abide by.

It depends why, I have also done martial arts for 11 years now and they have taught me to cotrol myself, however; there are a few good reasons for starting a fight, as some just need to be stopped.

 

It really depends on what the person does but i would never go out looking for a fight, but if he says something or does something then i wont stop until his head is part of the pavement.

And another question, are you to the point where your fists are considered lethal weapons? and you can get arrested just for swinging at someone?

That shit is just bad ass when you've done martial arts for that long that people respect your abilities that much to call your fists lethal weapons.

 

Never been in a "real fight", but I have had some nasty fights with friends (No actual reason to fight, just fighting to spar)

 

It depends on the situation but probably yes.

 

Not like fighting makes you look cool, in the end you are the one who end up looking like a retard.

 

It is a stupid thing to do but my mates always start fights when drunk so it kinda drags me in too.

 

I have never hit any of my friends. Normally people in my community will hit (no really hard but to get the point across) if they are loosing an argument or if they are annoyed. I find it better to win with words then fight.

 

No, I have never been in a fight. I've gotten in between them but thats it....I wouldn't swing first. I' m 25 and have a gf by my side no need to look like a douche.

 

i wouldn't punch first but if some shits going on with my friends/familly/gf well il surely defend them but i'm not the "fight" type
