What is friends chat?

I haven't played in a while and I hear everybody saying friends chat now. Is this clan chat?


edit: I was in a soul wars cc and someone called 'fake switch' and i'm like whats the point of saying fake switch and he responds 'its for the people not in fc'. If they aren't in the fc then they cant see him say fake switch though..? Can someone try and explain this to me.

New clan chat is basically if you're added to the ingame clan's memberlist, you can be in it, or join it as a guest. It's pretty much the same as the "Friend's chat" but with no lootshare.

 

Theirs clan chat for your clan,
& Friends chat for your friends basically.

Friends chat and clan chat are essentially the same thing, except the clan chat is now specifically for the official clan that you are in (allows you to have a channel to communicate with the other clan members). With friends chat, you can connect to another person's channel, or have another person connect to yours, by typing in their name when prompted to when attempting to join a friends chat. Its a fairly convenient feature for many reasons, and for things like playing the dicing game, you have to join the persons friends chat so that you can see what they roll broadcasted to everybody in the FC.

You are also in charge of your own FC, so you can rank/derank people, quit people, prevent certain people from joining etc. There is also a lootshare feature that you can use between the people in your FC if you are bossing with a group of friends and sharing drops. Its a nice feature It didn't exist back when I used to play so I was quite happy to learn how it worked when I started playing again.
