What kind of computer do you have?

590 is basically two 570 cores actually.

Waste of money.

 

Dell inspiron laptop with the new i5 and turboboost.

 

As with everything I feel that it would depend on the application and such but don't take my word for it because I don't have one and haven't checked more than 1 benchmark.

I took it out in favor of a 2x 560 ti setup. I had one 560 and my neighbor had one. So I loaned him the 580 for his ti. I see significant improvement so I guess it's kind of a win-win.

I plan on upgrading eventually to a 1155 setup, but for now I'm satisfied with this and don't want to buy a soon-to-be mid range 1155 processor when I have yet to see the new ones.

That 6770 is pretty nice too. I know it doesn't rank very high on benchmarks but that was the first machine I played Crysis 2 on max with. The fps were a bit low in some scenarios, but definitely playable on a $170 oc'd card.

 

I got a Gateway laptop, very reliable. 2gb ram, 250 gb hdd

 

The 570, 580, and 590 all use the same core but there is the significant differences between a 580 and a 570 such as higher membus, higher VRAM, higher SP count, etc which altogether makes the 590 amount to essentially 2x downclocked 580s. Yes for the most part it's equivalent to 570 SLI strictly in terms of performance though.

 

Really? That's funny I seem to get more FPS in games when I play comparing to lower models, bear in mind I overclocked. Plus I got it on offer.

I meant I have one 590, I was comparing to a single version of lower models. I know an SLI 580 will destroy a single 590. Was considering 580 SLI at the time but I went for the 590. Thinking back to it now I'm not really sure what made me go for it.
