It's not so much that we've devolved, as it is that our brains have grown. Over the course of history humans have generally gotten smarter, naturally, and as a result, do things quicker, use less energy, which results in a steady decrease of masculine and instinct. Our brains have become bigger than our muscles, in a sense.

We're still advancing and rapidly at that and to say were devolving, is just stupid.

Isn't that evolution? Now instead of worrying about survival we can focus on other things like science and technology.

Not at all; whilst we have a heavy dependance on electricity in Western society, we have evolved to cope with that and have adjusted accordingly. Intelligence is now considered more valuable than physical strength, so we have simply evolved along a different path.

What you've got to remember is that the world is constantly changing in many complexed ways, and thus humans are most certainly evolving, rather than devolving.

    e·volve/iˈvälv/
    Verb:

Develop gradually, esp. from a simple to a more complex form: "the Gothic style evolved steadily and naturally from the Romanesque".
(with reference to an organism or biological feature) Develop over successive generations, esp. as a result of natural selection

If people were to become, as you've put it, glued to their Xbox's, and they continued to do so for generations- People in general would gain faster reaction times, more acute vision, etc.

    Evolution baby!

That of course depends on how, you are caring your health.
I my self are going to the gym 7 times a week, and building my muscles.

Of course alot of these new kids doesnt knows what to do, however once they gets older, i'd say about 50%+ of them would be able to survive without any major problems, if a global black out happend.

I spend a lot of time on the computer, yet I still know how to survive, mainly because I watched Ray Mears and Bear Grylls and found it very interesting so I decided to research the subject and put it into practice.

If there was a black out though, people would still have their homes. Everyone knows to boil water and knows how to plant seeds. It's only the complete idiots who wouldn't survive.

A human would never be able to kill a tiger with only a knife no matter what time period they are from, it is physically impossible for a human to run faster than a tiger running at almost 30mph

    Have we devolved?

Human's thinking is evolving and devolving simultaneously in a manner of speaking. There become more and more 'brain dead fatties' as Lym mentioned, however, with current free speech, there are a few people rising up to challenge boundaries and learn new things. Aslong as we learn new things we are evolving, just the rate of evolution differs alot per person.

People may not show their survival instinct if everything is alright but in an extreme situation I think some survival skills might show in some persons you would never thought would.
