I keep seeing people say "Jagex won't ban p2p botter, they make more money from botters then anything else" Now, lets assume thats true. Why wouldn't jagex ban them? What do botters do when they get banned? They make a new account and buy ANOTHER membership, whether its from a pin seller or whatever...either way, jagex is going to make more money from botters by banning them..maybe not heavily (as to not deter botters from getting another membership) but they would/do/will make more money from botters if they ban them. They would also get more money from legit people if they see Jagex at least trying to get rid of botters (or looking like they're trying)
You never know what is going on in their headquarters... let alone psychology... Human nature changes very unexpectedly, this is why our systems are so complex. Sources: AP Psychology, AP Biology, experiences
Probably about as hard as "jagex makes more money from botters". Also, there are only about 2 statements and 1 of them is proven on the forums here...when botters get banned, they just buy another membership on a new account...
Not allways a botter, being banned purchases a new membership upgrade, as some has had their beloved account for a long period, and cannot redo the process to get there again. Personally i know a few, that has quit because of it.
Not really, just go on runescape and walk around all you will see botters everywhere... Also take a look at the amount of people online when the bots are down.
Bots will always exist. Jagex will always be in their "war" against macro developers, and all the while they will still profit off of everything else they do.
Lololol, regardless of how much membership you buy, they'll ban you. Why? They know this game has become like meth to a white kid. Gotta keep fucking taking it, and buying membership, etc.
You could argue that they make more money by banning a bot, because he will then create another bot and buy ANOTHER subscription. But this is almost the EXACT same concept as the bot just renewing his subscription for another month. Its not like these bots just pay for 1 month and thats it, most of them continue to bot over a long period of time until they get banned (IF they ever get banned). Also, I would think that alot of botters would be unlikely to get another subscription right away. I know if my FDK got banned right now, I would spend a couple months training a new one on F2P mostly, until he was ready to go P2P again. Just my opinion, but I don't think its really a valid argument, as they will most likely recieve the same amount of money either way. Besides, you forgot to factor in the thousands of people who would probably get banned botting P2P on their mains or other accounts that they worked hard to create, and become completely discouraged/frustrated with Runescape, and walk away from the game completely, never giving Jagex another penny. It DOES happen. A personal example again... if Jagex were to ban the main acc I am working on (and have been for 3.5 months straight now, JUST so I can get him up to wilderness PKing standards), I would quit RS again hands down. It just wouldn't be worth it to me to start from scratch trying to make another pker that will only suck even more time out of my life.
