Frost Dragons

Hello fellow Runescapers

I know that the Frost Dragons are extremely crowded with bots these days, but I'm wondering if there is still any good money in it to be made? (better than other methods atleast).

In just under 5 hours, one of my characters is going to be 85 dungeoneering and fully ready to go to the frost dragons. The ONLY drawback is that he currently can only summon a Spirit Terrorbird (will get him a tortoise soon, however I'm hoping 12 extra slots will be enough for now). I am planning on using a cannon + rapier, with a melee setup, as his melee stats are all above 90.

My plan is to maybe start out on a forgein world/1500+ server, and get the hang of frosties by farming them legitimately by hand. Down the road, if I like the profit per hour, I will consider buying a Frost Dragon script and just botting him next to my main during the day (while I play on my main legit). My main is also almost 85 dungeoneering and so I will be able to access FD's very soon on him aswell.

Do you think this will be a decent money maker? Also - can anybody offer me tips as in what is a good melee setup to use, how many pots to bring, what TYPES of pots to bring, banking methods to speed up the process etc. I am going to be looking around for a good guide in a few minutes but if anybody has experience with killing frosties please feel free to post some advice here Thanks!

 

well the only issue is that since there are so many bots, you are there for quite a long time. This happened for me atleast where my familiar ran out of time and all of my bones were dropped onto the ground. I had to stop using summoning or it kept doing it.

 

I am pretty sure that frost dragons have a high ban rate.

 

I am not planning on botting them right away, I will be doing it legit for the most part. If I like it and think I could make more money then all the legit things I currently do, then I might purchase ArteFDK. But in light of the recent claims by Jagex to be cracking down on bots, I will be careful regardless.

What I am more interested in though, is what the money is like? I have been told by a friend that if you go to a foreign world, or 1500+ server and get a spot, you can still potentially make over 1M per hour. Which for me, is very good money. I also want to know what kind of gear to bring there, as I have never been to Frost Dragons before.

 

I suggest you go to a French world or Italian world... no bots there

 

Yeah well I'm sure I can make twice as much money there if I am not botting, although I have to put in the time and effort. Still though, if its anywhere near 1M per hour then it will be worth it I think

I don't think I currently have any money making methods that are anywhere near that amount per hour, which is why I just usually sell upgrades or buy a bit of RSGP when I need it. But it would be nice to have a reliable and legit way to make cash again.

 

You're not going to get higher than 600k/hr

 

600k p/h isn't bad though, I am more than happy with that.

What about doing it legit though? I assume that when you say 600k p/h you are talking about running a bot on an extremely crowded, bot infested world.

 

You'll make decent money on the foreign server but when you start to bot you'll make fuck all as there's way to many bots. High ban rate too.

 

I am going to be particularly cautious engaging in any botting there at the moment because of Jagex's latest "warning" to the botters. Like I said up above, I will be farming the bones manually for the time being and doing everything legit.

Some advice and/or tips about actualy methods and gear at Frosties would be cool!

 

I haven't done frost dragons in awhile, I don't really see them worth my time anymore since the 2m profit is now none existent.

 

I only really hear horrible things about them, but honestly, other than buying all my RSGP I don't really know any other ways to make cash in this game anymore that isn't ruined. All the dozens of mils that I have made legitimately before I started selling upgrades on Sythe or buying GP was made through PVM - monsters like green and blue dragons, aviansies, fire giants etc. And those methods make nowhere near 600k+ per hour. So I have always thought Frost Dragons would be worth it (just not obviously to players that can make 2M+ per hour easily). I guess I will just have to find out

As far as I know, you just need 85 dungeoneering to access the resource dungeon. High combat stats help aswell, as the dragons are fairly strong I think. I really don't know though, haven't been there yet

 

All you need is membership and 85 dung... you dont have to be too high of level cause you can cannon them

frosts aren't to good but thats just because they are botted 24-7 by goldfarmers hardcore. i think each world has at least 20 bots. but you should be able to get a nice 300k profit per hour botting. a little late to start them if its for goldfarming purpose because think about it. frosts use to be 2m per hour, gold use to be $1.00 but now frosts are 300k per hour and gold is .35/m :\

Would take like 8 frosts to make what 1 use to make per hour. (if you were selling gold)

 

high combat stats does help, a little bit. Most, if not all, of the damage is from cannon.

Foreign worlds will get you good profit because some clients, like rsbuddy, cannot start loading in a foreign world.
When you actually start botting, as of right now, 600k gp/hour is VERY nice.
Which means in a couple weeks, if jagex doesn't do anything (which is a very good chance), its gonna be really hard to make even 500k gp/hour because it's packed with bots.
Right now I would't worry shit about jagex and their "bans". They won't mass ban p2p because even they know, most of their income is from botters.
I'm running 2 fdk bots 24/7 and soon will have 85 dung on another in 2 days, and 4 more in the next 2-3 weeks.

tl;dr

600k is VERY good, even for right now.
Gp/hour will go down because of the mass bots (unless you can be bothered to hop around and shit to find good world)
Jagex won't ban you, you're givingthem money.
As of now, it is still a very good, public, script for gp/hour.

 

It's still the best gold farming method that is out to the public..

 

I am not really wanting to goldfarm at frost dragon at the moment though, the gold is more for my personal use and enjoyment. However, it could be an option down the road.

Anyways, my question has been answered about 20 times now and I am now 85 dung and ready to go basically. I am more curious now about the actual gear that I am going to need, tips to speed up trips etc etc. But thankyou to everybody who has contributed some input so far.
