    Drugs, what are your views?

I've seen a few posts on weed (marijuana) in the past little while, so I was just curious on what everyone else thinks of the many other drugs out there?

What is Sythe's community opinion on drugs such as mushrooms/acid, ecstacy/mollie, cocaine/crack, meth/crystal(yes there is a difference), and heroin/prescriptions?

I've got a very open mind when it comes to all drugs, I've tried almost every mainstream drug except 2 or 3, along with various research chemicals. I don't find any harm in any drug if it is used conservetively and the user just doesn't indulge themselves in it- that's where addiction comes into play. I feel that every drug has it's own befefit and I feel that no drug is bad for you by any means with moderation. Of course, most people cannot moderate their usage. As I was growing up I'd always say I wouldn't do drugs and I pictured someone who, for example, did meth was a skinny scabbed up junkie that has no teeth. As I get older I notice that more and more people I wouldn't have ever expected, do some kind of drug. I no longer look at someone who does drugs as a nasty, stupid, and crazy person and I honestly despise it when someone places that view on somebody else because they are a user.

I just feel like you can gain alot of personal knowledge, introspective, and common sense from drugs; not just one of them but almost all of them. Every drug has it's own way that it could have a "proper" use if people didn't abuse them, but as we all know that will never happen.

Yes I know drugs can easily ruin lives, tear familys apart, and increase crime. But I also believe that drugs are placed in such a tabboo in society that it entrapse it's users. I see a big difference between a drug user, and an addict. I see an addict as someone who tries to hide from something, and does it so with drugs, whereas a user either enjoys the high, or for social purposes. I think that alot of familys blow situations out of proportion when they find out someone in their family is using, most familys aren't accepting and make the situations harder on the user/addict and inturn usually leads to the user getting worse.

So what about you, community of sythe? What are you views on drugs? If your just going to say they are bad, save your breathe please.

I understand and acknowledge that Sythe has some young users so please, young users, find your own opinions on these drugs and don't base your opinions and perform actions upon what people of this forum think.

Drugs are bad MKay, but seriously anything that has potential to ruin your life is bad. I don't find weed in that catagory however.

    Drugs, what are your views?

I am a heroin addict and have seen first hand the horrific things that drugs are capable of doing to your own life, to other's lives, and to the people around you that are affected by drugs. I think that it IS possible to use drugs recreationally and/or for purposes of spiritual enlightenment or instrospective exploration, but this depends on the user themslves. There is a fine line between using drugs to explore ones mind/better ones self, and just simply abusing them. A person obviously does not smoke crystal methamphetamine or shoot heroin to cleanse their mind and achieve a sense of heightened spiritual awareness.

After all my experiences, I still do not have a solid conclusion or opinion abut drugs. There are many different types of drugs, some very beneficial with much to offer the user in terms of knowledge and enlightenment, and some that are just plain deadly and designed to destroy your soul and take over your mind and body for somebody elses financial gain. There are also alot of factors and personal decisions that come into play and dictate where a person's drug use will inevitably lead them. I think that drugs are a very personal experience and that nobody should be judged for their interest in them, or for their private experiments with them. But the reality is that drugs are not toys, and they are very dangerous, and I think alot of people take for granted that they are playing with fire and that it is so easy to lose your mind to an addiction.

Very good post, I agree with alot of what you have said. I have tried heroin one time and it personally just wasn't for me. I do see where your coming from completely, I would say heroin is the drug that ruins the most people, or crack. I have tripped many many times and can honestly say that I do believe with a concrete opinion that mushrooms and acid are not threatening at all. I personally am an ex cocaine addict, formed to a meth user. I use about one-2 times a month, I do see alot of stuff people can honestly learn from using meth, but I also see how it can easily trap people. But yes people to take it for granted that they are playing with fire, alot of people do- but then again alot of people don't care and are just worried about getting high. It takes alot of self discipline to control your usage on any hard drug.

Got no problem with LSD, shrooms, marijuana.

I think those are the main 3 that can be enjoyable without addiction and health issues if used in recreation.

    Drugs, what are your views?

For me, heroin is a demon with which I am constantly at battle. Heroin is so amazing in so many ways, its ability to completely numb pain, to take you away from your problems, and just the physical RUSH you get when you tie off and push down that plunger, it really is better than any orgasm I have ever had. Unfortunately, I found heroin at the worst time in my life, when I was lower than I had ever been before and was in the middle of losing somebody that I loved very deeply. It didn't take long before smack was the only thing on my mind, 24/7, and I was constantly high after that. The problem with heroin is that for many people, it is just too strong to resist, and the concept of addiction becomes inevitable. I plunged into addiction so fast, and it wasn't until a year and a half later when I had lost EVERYTHING (my girlfriend, dropped out of school, my house, my job, my health, my sanity, all my self esteem and self confidence, even a few friends that died along the way) that I actually was sober enough to take a step back and just LOOK at my life, and see the pool of self destruction and insanity that I had been swimming in for nearly 2 years. Before that, I was simply too high and too addicted to this drug to even really notice my life and everything I worked for years to achieve, slipping through my fingers faster than I could even blink. I went from being a completely normal kid to a homeless junky in less than 6 months.

I have seen drugs like crystal meth temporarily provide people with heightened senses and artistic awareness, which causes them to argue for that the drug can actually be beneficial in certain cases, but these people are just fooling themselves. Every single one of those people I have met in my life have ended up becomming one of those scabbed, skinny people who you see ducking into alleyways to take a hit off their pipe. Drugs like heroin and meth are manipulative, soul destroying substances that will pull your life out from under your feet like a rug, and leave you on the ground sobbing and gasping for air. I have seen too much destruction at the hands of these substances to think that any good can come from them. Yes, you can use them recreationally maybe once or twice and get away with it, but you are playing with fire my friend. And it is too easy to get burned..

As for drugs like acid and mushrooms, I think those can be safely consumed without any immediate health risks. The most danger those drugs pose to your health is mentally, so I would not advise using them if you are depressed, or already mentally ill in some way. I have tripped dozens of times in my early teens and have had both good and bad trips, but I concluded that those drugs are relatively safe, and even after heavy use I have seen alot of friends lose interest in those drugs and instead pursue a normal life with normal responsibilities. If you can find the thread about "Steve Jobs taking LSD", there are some good arguments in their against taking acid. One user even went as far as calling LSD "the single most dangerous drug out there", which got me pretty fired up :p

Anyways, I am sipping my morning coffee and did not intend to write a novel, but I get pretty hyped up when I start talking about drugs and/or addiction. The moral of this story - be careful. An addiction honestly sneaks up on you so fast, you almost never see it coming. You don't want to end up as the loser living in his parent's basement, playing Runescape 10 hours a day and spending all your time online because your personal and social lives are too broken and messed up to deal with (yeah, thats me I'm talking about).

    Drugs, what are your views?

I've taken Ecstasy, oxycodone in the form of percocet, weed and alcohol. I plan on taking many psychedelics at some point in my life and they are the drugs I am truly pumped for (SHROOMS!).

I am for any drug if ONLY if you are extremely knowledgeable on the drug, what it can to do you, etc. For example, when I took percocet, I took many pre-cautions before I decided to try them. I confirmed the appropriate dosage and told myself I would NOT take them again after the first time for a LONG time to avoid any possible consequences. Also, when I rolled on E, it was one of the most fun moments of my fucking life, but I have yet to take it again because I know I want to wait AT LEAST a month between rolling, therefore I want to take it again on an appropriate occasion.

    Drugs, what are your views?

I've done pretty much every drug I can think of. My main weakness is opiates, mostly heroin and oxycodone. I have a problem with benzos too and was also hooked on meth and ketamine about 2 years ago. I've been battling drug addictions for 8 years now. My biggest issue is that out of all the drugs I've done, I have never found one that I didn't like. I'm not doing nearly as much as I used to and I have it somewhat under control, but I still do enough to have some moderate withdrawals.

I have mixed feelings about drugs overall. As much as I love them, I still think some people really need to just avoid them, not including psychedelics and weed. I have always had a very addictive personality and I was pretty much hooked right when I took my first Percocet when I was 13. The biggest part of any addiction is psychological. I can get clean anytime if I really wanted to, but I will still always crave it. Drugs have caused me a lot of trouble over the years, but even after everything, I still don't really have any intentions on quiting at the moment. The key for anyone who does drugs is to have self control and be very knowledgeable on what you're doing. The reason why people overdose is either because they don't know what the hell they're doing or they have no self control and try to push the limits.
