I'm worried! D;

I have about 5b on my rs account, but I didn't originally make it, I got it from some random for free like 6 years ago.. I know original ISP and IP and everything, I know some preeetyyy old passwords.. So do you reckon that they could recover it? And if they did could I get it back?
like could i ring jagex and answer questions on the phone and stuff?
When an account is recovered, are the current recoveries deleted?? Thanks =]

 

If they recover the account as a stolen account, then yes the recoveries are cancelled.

I don't think that's an option anymore though (need clarification) so you'd need to wait the 14 days if that's the case.

You've had it for 6 years, I'm pretty sure they think you're the original owner if the other person hacked it... unless they still use the same IP that it was created on.

 

The original owner can always recover it. If you've had it for 6 years, I wouldn't worry too much. More than likely the original owner has forgotten about it.

 

Dynamic IP's change every 8-10 hours so there's no way they'd still be using the same IP =]

If they did remember, what is the most important part of a recovery!?

Credit card numbers I am sure play a huge part in recovering if they had members on it.

 

You should probably transfer it to a mule if you're worried.

 

The recovery process will accept the earliest recovery answers, passwords, subscription information, etc. Pretty much the person whoever has the earliest information ever that was on the account, will most likely get the appeal accepted.

 

Should be good man, submit an appeal and just answer everything as accuratly as possible. as for creation date, thing of a time that resembles as close as possible to when you think you made it.

e.i; Moved to a new house, a school year (maybe learned Runescape from a mate) ect. Those are just some ideas, all information helps when submitting an appeal. first password ever may also be extremely good for this.

 

5Years ago you should be fine I would be worried if it was within 1year but my guess is your be fine if u worried just keep abit of money on a spare account.

No they don't really. The two most important sections are creation dates and previous passwords.

 

Just sell the 5B or transfer it to be 100% safe.

 

If anything you'd probably get in a recovery war and as long as you have your things in your bank with a 7 day delay, you could probably always recover it back before he could ever get his hand on the items (And when you do you should transfer the items if this ever happens).

 

I'd transfer it on to a mule. Thats like $2000-$2500k. What if he recovers it? You're out of money. better safe than sorry.

Whoever has the oldest information will always end up with the account, even if you have more info.

Get the non necessary stuff off of there, just to be safe.

Even if nothing happens you gotta be safe because if something WERE to happen, you would regret not doing it.

 

If you're extremely worried about what COULD happen, transfer some of your wealth to a personal account.

There's never a need for more than 500m on an account at a time, unless you're a showoff.

 

The chances of happening is rather low after 5+ years, however i wouldn't risk it.
I would personally place the wealth onto a mule, and a minor part i.e. 1-200m onto the actual account.
After all, unless he has changed ISP or something, he would be able in 99% cases to recover it without any major problems, if he knows previously passwords.

The older the passwords are, the higher the chances are for it is succesful being recovered.

 

Now they will probably think you are the original owner by now.
