Nobody can handle all of that paperwork. Instead, Electronics Benefit Transfer cards need to be more closely monitored. Receipts should be required for cash purchases only.

    Drug Testing for Welfare.

I see this as fair, since most people on welfare do spend it on drugs or alcohol

    Drug Testing for Welfare.

I have strong views on this topic. I recently got my first job in a factory... Working my ass off 10 hours a day, 6 days a week making $9.50/hr. I got my first check and was shocked to see how much was taken out of my check for taxes... So I started thinking about what these tax dollars are really going to. I work my ass off for the government to give free money to drug addicts and alcoholics? Drug testing unconstitutional? You have to be kidding me... This government "help" system is for people who NEED it. It's for people who need help putting food on the table, people who need help putting clothes on their kids backs. Not for people who sell their food stamps outside of Wal-Mart so they can get their "fix". Simple and plain, if you can't pass a drug test, you don't deserve money from the government that comes from hard working people...

Don't do drugs when you are already getting money handed to you. It's a choice between getting high or surviving, choose one or the other.

    Drug Testing for Welfare.

This should be everywhere, and it should be mandatory for the entire family to take a drug test, not just the applicant. I see it as a way of ensuring the distribution of funds to be more appropriate and would actually SAVE money in the end.

To be honest, I'd love to have this in my state, it'd make it easier to get assistance as just about everyone on welfare and such do drugs from their money. It's ridiculous, but it's the way it is =/.

You can't single out a group of people based on their income, that is completely unconstitutional. I am completely against this, if your going to do this then drug test every person who makes over 1m a year and if they fail remove them from their position.

They aren't 'singling' anyone out. They're testing those who are applying for federal aid. They should actually have much higher restrictions on such. Physicals, psych evals, etc.

and what happens if they do indulge in drugs but DO NOT use their welfare money (a friend turns them on for example) they will still be kicked off of welfare? What about people on disability, are they going to have to do the same thing? they aren't lazy, they genuinely can not work..

IMO what people spend their money on (earned or not) is their own business....I am so glad I don't live in the us...I'd have left that slop bucket a while ago if I did.
