Weekly Runescape Item and Gp Raffle!

Hello everybody, as you all can tell I am new to these forums. I've been around this site a while, just didn't really use it for anything other than passing time and reading interesting topics. Well that is all about to change! Other then playing RuneScape, one of my hobbies is organizing raffles for school and other charities. Now I will be combining 2 of my hobbies and i will be doing a raffle every week! I'm going to need a little help and some suggestions on how to make this effective and a valuable tool for this community!

I was recently watching Delta Squad as they did a Raffle for 400k dungeoneering tokens, and i seen how the price was 1m/ticket, but that wouldn't work for me since my prices will mostly be Big Cash Piles or Rares! So it wouldn't make much such.

So here is what I am thinking, I could have the same sort of setup as Delta Squad, where they list numbers and you pick and whoever is closest wins! The thing is for the payment, this is the part where I am going to need your help, since the price/ticket is going to be so low, I was thinking about just using PayPal for the payment offer, because at a couple dollars/ticket, isn't very much, I have a fully verified PayPal account.

I haven't used PayPal a whole lot, so I do have a few questions that you could answer below to help me out.

For PayPal would just sending a gift as the payment be safe and unrecoverable? as in like the person who paid for the ticket can't just cancel the transaction and get his money back.

You can always get charged back on PayPal. Always.

 

Oh really, well what method for payment would you reccomend?

 

Paypal gifts can be recovered up to over a year after the transaction. I'd just use RSGP

 

Tbh, you will probably have to become a lot more trusted around here before people trust you with their money.

 

Yes I know i realize that, that's why I was going to start out small, with some little 10m raffles and cheap item raffles, to gain trust before I even think about doing a big raffle. I don't think RSGP would be a good payment, because RSGP is only worth ~0.53/M and i was looking for in a 10m raffle for .50/ticket, which would be pay 1m for a 10m draw, which isn't very good, but if you seen .50/ticket for a chance to win 10m, then your interested, and its only .50

 

just do a 500k ticket for a 10m draw then or a 1m ticket for a 20m draw

 

That could work but I mean I would like to get bigger raffles, as in like Santa Hat Raffles and 100m Raffles, and that would be 5m/ticket, do you think people would do that for 100m raffle? would that really be worth it? I would need 20 Tickets bought to break even. I was looking for profit to fund higher raffles, and giveaways for the community.

 

I'd suggest not profiting on your first several raffles, just to gain trust. I'm assuming it will be a while before people will trust you with 5m each, but you could definitely get to that point.

You could also, just pay out whatever money you take in, that way you wouldn't have to sell an exact amount.

 

I wouldn't do paypal mate, one of the reason my paypal rate is so high on my dungeon services is to make people not use it due to chargeback rates.
