I feel you, if they started to protest a funeral at one of my loved ones, I'd seriously lose it.

The worst of all is how they completely brainwash their children, who will more than likely grow up to be worse than the parents.

They are allowed to do whatever they want. As long as they only use words, they're protected.

I understand that they have freedom of speech, I'm not stupid. But I wouldn't go as far as to say they will win automatically. There are limitations and special circumstances that can eliminate ones freedom of speech on certain topics. I would say using ones rights to "speak freely" while demoralizing the ones who give them the right to "speak freely" is a conflict of interest. Currently they are walking a fine line between staying out of these limitations. One limitation I look at in particular is one called "Fighting Words."
This cannot solely eliminate ones right to free speech, but can be linked to other ones that can eliminate it. In a court of law I believe a way could be found. It's just a matter of time before they get someone ballsy enough to do it.
I don't give a shit what you think of them either.

Of course you can't prohibit free speech, but you can make limitations. They are not bullying, they are protesting and clashing interests with their rights to speak and the demoralization of the soldiers that give it to them.
I am not "thicker than bricks" you fuck, you're the asshole who's defending these pricks. Obviously they are operating within the constitution, but there are special circumstances that limit what you can and cannot do.

People have the right to bare arms under the constitution, but they are not allowed to have fucking working RPG's mounted in their living room. There are certain weapons that are either illegal to own or require certain permits.

    I rest my case.

These people are so ignorant. What a bunch of hypocrits... how can they not find the irony in using technology created by Steve Jobs to protest against him? I'm watching the Tyra show clip right now and its unbelievable how ignorant these people are.

Westboro Baptist Church announces to protest at Steve Jobs’s funeral

I remember there being a record of the amount of lawsuits against the WBC. There are a TON. Defamation, slander, etc. I think the amount was like 1/5 actually win. But almost every day they protest. Almost every day, they travel somewhere. Can you imagine how many times they've been assaulted or something? Look up the videos, there are hundreds of them. I'll bet my money on the fact that all of those people were sued.

Why isn't it defamation/slander? Well for one thing, their signs are not directed at one person. Another might be that sometimes they protest BLOCKS away. I bet the closer they get, the more likely they're going to lose in court.

Their signs are not fighting words. I highly doubt "fighting words" is the same as "provoking violence". The only reason one would get mad is because they have a negativity about them. They know they're hypocrites, and they're trying their hardest to milk it. Of course, some conservatives agree with them, most do not. That still doesn't change anything.

Provoking one to violence would only hold up in court if they were to go out of there way to pinpoint a certain person. If someone's picket sign says "kill cops", I would expect a cop arresting him/her for provoking violence would hold up. "Pray for dead soldiers" or "God Hates Fags" are not provoking anyone, they are not inciting violence, nor do they provoke anyone.

Sorry lad, but you have to direct the whole quote. That's what the comma was for. It meant:

"Regardless if you love them or hate them, they are exercising their legal rights, and if you want to be like Lady Gaga or any other fuckwit who knows nothing about the Constitution and legal rights of citizens and remove the right to free speech, go right ahead."

That right there, is the biggest bunch of bullshit ever. "Free speech" means "freedom to speak". If you can't speak freely, it is not free speech. That is why defamation, slander, provoking terror, inciting fear/violence, and other rules, help fight things like screaming 'fire' in a movie theater and stuff.

Saying "I hate gays", or "Fuck I hate black people" is not a crime. It's in bad taste, and racist, but saying that they have no LEGAL right to say that, is on the verge of thought crime. By the way, the soldiers that fought for our freedoms are DEAD AND BURIED.

I'm not defending them. If someone were to shoot them, I would not shed a single tear. There are special circumstances that limit what you can/cannot do, and they are operating WITHIN THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS. Any time they lose in court, it's a matter of speculation and emotion. Period.

    Actually:
If that's your argument, you lost. Want me to bring this to the Something For All forum? You'd lose, because the constitution, although not a firm and moral decider, is what you're arguing for/against.

Steve Jobs is completely arbitrary to me, the fact that they orchestrate these protests IN the vicinity of an ongoing funeral in general is one of many morally reprehensible acts the group is guilty of. They are such a vile collective of people, i very much pity the children that are brought up to value such hateful ideals- brainwashed from birth.

Their God hates Fags sign is so treacherous. The pro-gay punk band Limp Wrist did a spin-off for their album title, Fags hate God. I love it.
