Internet connection + botting help.

Hey guys just a quick question
I just baught iDungeon Pro and am currently running 3 bots with no lag.
My internet modem is pretty bad and turns off when its over used, so im afraid to run anymore bots, i have 8Mb broadband and a very old modem.
So my question is, does running a good few bots make your internet connection much slower?

Download speed: 6.96 Mbps
Upload speed: 0.43 Mbps
Ping: 19 ms

This is with 3 bots running..

EDIT: Is it normal that a wireless laptop is extremely slow when i have 4 bots running on the desktop?:/

 

Just run a Download/Upload meter on your computer. You can find them on http://download.com - Your computer specs will most likely be the result on limiting amounts of bot and increasing lag rather than exceeding your download speeds.

 

I have a good new pc which will handle 10+ bots, ill post my download speeds, if you could tell me if there good?

 

Runescape uses very very little internet bandwidth, don't worry.

rs doesn't use alot of your bandwidth at all, so shouldn't be a problem, you could probably run 10+ bots easy.

Good too hear thanks i found out its when im on the desktop and my sisters on the laptop(wireless) at the same time it made the modem turn off, but i have a new modem arriving tomorrow so hopefully that will fix the problem, will post back, thanks guys

 

You can play rs with less than 30kb/s. I was in tech school for the air force and we didnt have internet in the dorms. So i used my iphone 3g to tether the att 3g internet to my laptop. i was getting ~30kbps and i was able toplay rs perfectly. And my friend played WOW with his 3g.

dude I've ran like 8 bots on a 3mb connection. you'll be fine. Pretty much your only limitation is your computer processor / RAM

I would say get a newer modem/router. As having a newer one can improve your internet and some old modems only let through a certain limit of Internet speed. They're pretty cheap and you can get a decent one for £30+. Your Internet is fine though, more than enough.

Maybe the ping? how old is the notebook? how is your router?

 

Have 2 bots on good ping worlds and it seems too be ok but if i had 4 it would be horrible. Its a new macbook Pro. And i have a brand new router but not sure if its good or anything.

 

Have you checked CPU/RAM usage when you run the bots?

 

CPU is maxed- 100%, when i have 4 bots running. Which is horrible as i have a quad-core 3.4ghz Phenom and 8gb's of ram :/:/ thats another problem i have.

 

Try it with 3 bots, same problem? Or does the performance of the CPU and RAM shoot right down?
