Need some help on picking out a PC

I'm basically a fucking idiot with anything having to do with computers and tend to get ripped off when buying them so I've come here for some help.

These are my current specs (real shitty)

Just everything about it is terrible. I can run just about 1 bot without it lagging, and I can only play WoW on the lowest settings with it crashing every time I play.

The games I'd be playing since I'm not really one of those people who play say FPS's or those high performance games and what I'd mostly be using it for is:
WoW- I'd like to play on Ultra settings
Runescape- I'd like to play WoW while running maybe 2-3 bots (maybe more)? If that's possible without it lagging too much.
    Games like Minecraft, Amnesia
    Diablo 3 and LoL
    And obviously Youtube

Like I said I'm extremely terrible with the concepts so any help would be appreciated. I'll be getting it assembled by a friend and I hear I should stay away from pre builts.

In terms of a monitor- I've got a 23 inch LED so I'm good with any monitor for now and I've got a 5 dollar mouse and like an 8 dollar keyboard so any suggestions for those would be nice too :D

I'd like to keep under a grand if that's possible but I'm fine with it being over if necessary in order to play the games I want.

    Thanks again guys.

You're going to need a substantial(ish) amount of money to get all this together, if you want, PM me and I can help you pick out the hardware part by part or give a quick summary in a post to help out?

Are you planning on building this computer or do you just want to buy a premade one? If your willing to build it your self you can get a much better system but if that's scary you may have to just buy one.

^thatll max most games on the market, if you wanna save some money could go with a Hyper 212+ & something like a 460(won't max the more graphic intensive games like crysis but will do a good job)

    Also raidmax, wouldn't trust it.

This is a pretty good set up to base things off. If you don't need a 6950, which is a pretty good card already, you can move down to a 6870/460. Also, I don't really like ASRock/Raidmax as mobo/PSU manufacturers but they are fine.

Honey if I were you, I would buy a PC from a brand like Dell even if it costs more.

I had a dell back in 2000, and it was faithful to me for over 8 years.
I have never seen a custom-built computer last anywhere that long.

But of course, you wouldn't want to use the same computer for 8 years, considering the speed that technology is advancing nowadays...

Err what? Manufacturers use shitty parts. Honestly custom built PCs will last longer on average if put together and handled like they should be. Where did you get this info from? Sounds like something you're just assuming. Fact is builders are more likely to be tech enthusiasts or hobby builders and trust me... every time I've built a PC I've wanted to turn right around and build another one (except bigger/badder/better :)). My systems were still all probably in the top 5% at the time of being built in their respective roles. It honestly isn't a fair comparison. If you're happy with using an 8 year old Dell go for it LOL but if someone has interest in building don't try to poop on it. Higher costs, crappier parts, less warranty, etc are all high costs to pay especially when you're talking about downgrading.

If you just need a CD/DVD drive, $20. If you want Bluray, between $70-$100 depending on whether you want a burner or just a reader.

That's a pretty decent card. Definitely respectable. They overclock pretty well too. If it were me though I'd put the little bit extra money towards the 560 Ti, but that's just me. If you don't need the extra graphics power, don't worry about it. When in doubt, benchmarks! :)

What do you mean? So you've owned a large enough quantity of custom built PCs to say that all custom PCs have a shorter lifetime than manufacturer built PCs? Despite the fact that pretty much every custom built (even using bad brand names) uses better quality parts than even the best manufacturer PCs?

edit: Actually your post addressed nothing. You (very ambiguously) threw out "I had a dell back in 2000, and it was faithful to me for over 8 years. I have never seen a custom-built computer last anywhere that long." without saying why you think custom PCs don't last as long (despite them having superior quality parts). A person who wants to rebuild after a few years because their needs increase is not the same as someone who is buying a prebuilt and expecting it to last 10 years. I would think this is obvious but I guess not.

No you have to buy Windows separately, or pirate it (can't help you there, sorry). I personally just install a trial copy of W7 then buy a legit key from resellers.
