I prefer AMD because I built my own PC and I had to pay for it while I had no job.
It was definitely cheaper for me and I was always going with Intel so I decided to change.

I'm surprised by AMD because it brought me to an awesome gaming experience. Even though that I'm pretty sure Intel beats AMD, I wouldn't change for now, unless someone give it to me for free :)

I use AMD. AMD is cheaper and usually the same or better quality than Intel. Though the thing is with AMD CPU it does not beep when it is over heating unlike Intel from my experience lol.

What are you talking about? Are you even reading my posts before replying?

A more appropriate comparison to the 1100T would be the i5 2500k, which spanks it as shown in this benchmark: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/288?vs=203

Count 'em up. It lost like 3/37 benchmarks at a cost of $20 more, which one could argue is easily worth it when you consider the technologies on the Intel chipsets. Not to mention that chip hits 5GHz easy whereas the 1100T is lucky to hit 4.2GHz before blowing up.

Even the i5 2400 (exact same price as 1100T) does better in the vast majority of benchies: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/363?vs=203 most notably the game benchmarks it absolutely rips through the 1100T.

You hate them.... why? They perform better at negligibly more cost. You don't like more performance?

Intel clearly, they are more based on performance than AMD. Although I will admit AMD is cheaper.

They're both great but I normally use Intel and I have had no problems with them. They get my vote.

    Intel are far superior.

Another thing Ivy is missing out on, the core2quads(like 4years old) perform pretty much exactly the same as PII x4's.

If you're doing a build $700 or under AMD is the go, $800+ would be intel.

It's proven that intel perform better.
I'd use something I hated if it provided such a big performance boost for a little bit more cash.

Look at any benchmark comparing that 8 core to the i7 2600k. The QUAD CORE 2600k beats the shit out of that 8 CORE any day.

    AMD Opteron 6176 SE ~ $1600
    Intel Core i7 990X ~ $1000

Compare those anywhere. They're pretty much the best for each brand. Even when AMD comes out with a "high end" processor, they still can't compare to the high end Intels.

People say AMD is a better price/performance ratio, but when you're looking at high end processors and actually considering benchmarks like most intelligent people, it's not even a contest. Intel still outclasses.

So hate without reason or logic... That's really what this world needs eh?

I'm currently running a laptop that has an AMD A6-3400 quad coreAPU with a stock clock speed of 1.4GHz. I have it overclocked and running smooth & cool at 2.8GHz, and can play every game out there at max settings on the integrated graphics. This is on a 400$ laptop. So yeah, I'm going to say AMD>Intel

My laptops running on an AMD 8 processor and this is by far the fastest computer I have had in along time. It runs everything I need it to flawlessly, and has tons of space for storing my music and movie files, and it runs Runescape like a dream :) Even though I've heard Intel is the superior company, I am .more than impressed with AMD right now and would probably use them again

Go run Crysis 1/2 or Metro 2033 and watch it get like 5fps on max.

    Ivy Bridge kicking ass ITT.

Personally I prefer intel. My i5 750 runs everything I throw at it, best purchase I've ever made PC related.

I see a lot of uneducated posts...
Just because you've never had an Intel is no reason to say AMD is better.

    I edited that for you..
