ORRRRRR... in the same time it took you to reply.. you could type into Google.. "Steve Jobs LSD", click into the wiki link, examine the reference to the quoted text.. and conclude that he did infact say that about his LSD experience.

He wasn't necessarily a "bad" person, but the tactics he used were brutal. He would often disregard current technology and force his idea onto his engineers, regardless if it was possible or not. He ripped off countless people, would force people to quit and take credit for their work. A good example of this was the Macintosh. Jobs was creating Strela (I think that is what it was called) and he planned to make it a revolutionary personal computer that was extremely powerful etc etc, something that HE could claim as his own, something to place him above everyone else. Well someone else in his company actually created a prototype for the Macintosh which turned out to be thousands less expensive, and was much smaller then the Strela and was twice as powerful.

Jobs manipulated the creator of the Macintosh, making him leave / quit, Jobs took the job over and claimed it was all of his work.

Sorry if my story is horrible, I'm only about a fourth through the book and I read it watching TV and whatnot, I actually ordered it a week or so ago and got it on the day Steve Jobs died, kinda erie.

No offence man, but you have absolutely NO clue what you are talking about. I have used LSD probably 30 or 40 seperate times in my life, and have had all sorts of trips ranging from good, to absolutely terrifying. I was even hospitalized one time because I was tripping so hard and thought all these things were happening around me that really weren't, and I have heard it from highly qualified Doctor's themselves that LSD is almost completely harmless, especially for your physical body. The biggest harm that LSD can cause a person is to their mind... but most people who have "bad trips" regularly, or tend to freak out and get out of control on these drugs are people who already have mental health issues, or who are genetically predisposed to mental disorders such as schitzophrenia and depression etc. If you are one of those people and you decide to take a psychedelic drug, there is a very good chance that you will be bringing that illness up to the surface. But LSD itself is a very safe and clean drug, despite the fact that it is technically "a chemical".

HPPD, and flashbacks, are fairly rare and are more myth than reality. Yes, they do occur, but for HPPD to become very serious and to really negatively affect your life you have to be taking massive doses of LSD repeatedly, so much acid that it infact that it almost puts you in a permanent state of "tripping" where your brain is essentially fried - visual disturbances, problems with listening and paying attention, and a failure of cognitive abilities. Even then in these absolute extreme cases, these effects can go away if you stop using drugs completely and give your mind time to recooperate. But like I said before, this kind of effect is VERY rare, and most people who experience this have done this to themselves by taking extremely large quantities of LSD, repeatedly, over a very long period of time (we are talking years here). Flashbacks are also rare, but do happen from time to time. But saying that you will go into a "full on trip 30 years later" is complete hogwash. A flashback is more like an intense flash-back into an emotional or visual state that you experienced during a psychedelic drug trip, usually triggered by another experience similar to whatever traumatic thing happened to you during your drug trip.

And one more myth I need to dispel - all the rumours you hear about people "gouging out their eyes, ripping off their skin, and jumping out of buildings" is complete BS. There have been VERY FEW cases that have ever been recorded of people doing such things, and most of the ones that do exist are concerning people that are out of their minds on various substances, including ones that actually cause states of delerium and psychosis (like combining LSD with a week long crystal meth binge, or taking multiple psychedelic drugs at once... washing down a few peyote buttons with a nice strong datura tea and eating a couple mushrooms right after with a tab of acid under your tongue). If you believe these stories to be true then I challenge you to find one that has been medically and scientifically documented and is not just posted somewhere on the internet as a claim.

So its unfortunate that your opinion of acid is so negative, but it is most likely not your fault. People's ignorance about drugs usually stems from simply being uneducated, and being stuffed full of government propaganda and false rumours that are passed on by parents/schools in order to steer kids away from using drugs.

TV - Read what I just posted. RSaccountrader honestly has no idea what he is talking about. That should be apparant immediately due to the fact he regards LSD as "the single most dangerous drug". Are you telling me that LSD has a more negative impact on society, and on people's lives, than an actual addicting drug like crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine or heroin? The ignorance of some people makes me so angry

    Steve Jobs had multiple jobs:

All quotes are from his Wikipedia page.

Steve Jobs was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when he was 49 years old. Personally, if I was diagnosed with such a rare cancer, I'd be experimenting with every single drug I could get my hands on because you already know you're going to die, you just don't know when.

You don't think any inventors took drugs to unlock parts of their mind? If you think they didn't, you are seriously mistaken.
