Xbox vs Playstation

Which one should I buy? and why?

I'm mainly looking to play multiplayer online games.

 

I suggest PS3 because Xbox360 has so much problems to fix... I have both and I know for sure, Xbox has some better games on it tho but still you gotta pay a lot more and too many problems...

 

I can get an xbox360 with 250gb hard drive (just a standard one) for $180 AUS, or a PS3 for $449 AUS. I was leaning towards PS3, but now I am having second thoughts.

What do you mean by "you gotta pay a lot more"?

 

Any advice?

 

Both are great consoles, and I believe that comparing them is like comparing Soccer and Baseball. They both have their own merits, pros and cons.

But let me compare the online services for you.
While you have to pay to play online with an Xbox, the online connectivity is great and there are not much problems. 8$ or so a month is worth it, in my opinion.
On the other hand, you can play online with a Ps3 for free. But I really did not like playing online with my ps3, because it give me a lot of issues and lag. Maybe it would have been different if I had better internet, but my xbox gave me better services even with the same internet provider.

I guess that the price of playing online IS proportionate to the quality of online-gaming.

If your internet is average, I would recommend the xbox 360 for playing online.
However, if you have awesome internet, maybe the Ps3 will do you good.

Buy it brand new, with the warranty.

 

Neither go for a gaming PC. PC rapes consoles by miles.

 

Definitely Xbox for multiplayer.

 

If you don't want to pay for online get PS3, if you are willing to pay for Live then definitely get an Xbox.

 

XBOX360 has

• Larger playerbase
• You pay little per month for great servers (you get what you pay for)
• Better games

PS3 has

• Very slight better graphic (so little, barely makes difference
• Blu-ray, can watch movies
• Can go on the internet

All in all 360 is better as you probable have a Blu-ray and a computer at home. For gaming, go for 360.

 

For gaming and dont mind paying for the multiplayer then go with an xbox.

Playstation FTW , I think you should get Playstation because it has everything you want even ''Blue-Ray'' which is cool and like its better hehe

 

Ok so here is an update:

I already have a blu-ray player and a decent laptop which allows me to play high definition games.

I bought a brand new Xbox 360 with 250gb hard drive and headset for $180AUD (60% discount off the full price). I also added extended warranty at $19.99 for 3 years and I bought an Xbox live gold 12 month membership card for $30 (from the original price of $80).

So now i'm looking to buy some good games. I prefer online multiplayer games but i'll never turn down a decent action/sport or racing game.

I was thinking of pre-ordering mw3 and battlefield 3.


Any suggestions?

Modern Warfare 3
Halo 16th Anniversary
Battlefield 3

ps3 all the way , xbox costs a lot + you gotta pay for sub and xbox has a lot of problems with it.

 

This argument will always be perpetuated by biased fanboys of both sony and microsoft. Ultimately it comes down to which console you're most familiar with, for me- that would be xbox. Both have pros and cons, best way to go about choosing one is to assess each of the game libraries offered, check which games you'd like to play are exclusive to a certain console, and see which controller configuration you feel more comfortable with.

 

Xbox has more games and a better online community.

 

Quality > Quantity

Luckily, xbox exceeds in both aspects, in my opinion.
