Multi-Spaced Names

Hmm... Is it still possible to change to / create Multi spaced names ?

I've seen lots of high levels with Multi-spaced names...

 

You are no longer able to create accounts or change your account name to a multi-spaced name.
The ability to do so was removed a few years prior to this post.

 

I'm pretty sure you can still take multispace display names that previously existed if they are free.

Like I said, not entirely sure though.

 

I tried just the other day and you actually can't.

That stopped me from changing the name on my account with 6 spaces in a row

 

Well I guess that answers that then.

At least they didn't delete all of the existing multispaced names.

I have a 2 spaced name on a acc i bought, that's it, was hoping if you could still change into them.

 

Yeah that was awhile ago. My account with the 6 spaces in a row has veteran (and I think classic) capes. I'd be willing to sell it if the price is right.

Uh.. What about display names starting with a "-" ?

 

I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think you can anymore.

 

There are also some usernames with the underscore "_" as well.
Don't know how people were able to make these as I never remembered it being possible.
Must have been a fluke at the time or something. o.o

 

Multispaced names were discontinued in 2007. They can't be transferred (so if you have a multispaced name, don't change its display!). Also, if you happen to have an account with a multispaced display name, Jagex will only delete if you are found to be taking advantage of it (using the name to scam/avoid reports).

A multispaced name would be awesome to have. But sadly, they were discontinued in 2007.

 

They stopped this because it was difficult to report in some cases. Other than that, it would still be available but scammers always ruin it.

 

They stopped allowing it because it was deceiving, scammers would use these names all the time.

 

I am sad, I have the name

"6-----Spaces" (there are 5 spaces)

but it got banned

Can't have them anymore I had one but It got banned.

 

This is now not allowed, however peoples names which previously with multiple spaces should still work regardless.
