    I've always wondered who others tip, and who others don't tip.

    I personally will tip anyone that goes out of their way, or does way more than necessary to assist me.

    I regularly tip:
    Waiters / Waitresses;
    People who pump gas in winter;
    Sub Shop associates if they do an exceptional job
    Cable Man

    I will NOT tip:
    Cashiers
    Salespeople
    Anyone who isn't polite.

    What about you? What are your viewpoints?

    Nobody "tips" here in New Zealand, I don't see why anyone else should either... they get paid for their products or services already.

    That's interesting. Restaurants over here often have "suggested gratuity" on them. I usually tip lower because they're assuming that I'm going to leave a lot of money.

    They don't tip at all there?

    In the US at least, they're really not. Minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13/h as opposed to $7.25/h

    Although if they do not get enough tips to get them above $7.25 an hour, the business must cover it.

    I do not tip, they get a salary.

    But if someone does a very hard job for you or helps you much, you can leave tips, but I think that a honest Thanks is worth more than several cents.

    I've worked in a restaurant and you wouldn't believe how angry they get if you don't leave a decent tip.

    I generally tip if anyone does a service for me, if a cashier is being exceptional polite/upbeat I'll leave a tip too.

    When eating at restaurants, I leave at least 20%, delivery I generally tip 10%

    Imagine if you were in there shoes, a small tip would definitely make your day more enjoyable.
