Thanks Tux. MoneyBookers is safer than Alertpay, on Alertpay chargebacks can happen, not often, but it is possible.

 

Can you get charged back on Moneybookers?

 

I recently started offering MoneyBookers for my goldshop -- it has worked out well --- it was only a matter of time before a replacement for paypal would be viable and I think moneybookers might be it.

 

Frenzy no. Unless in rare cases if the money were stolen and there is a proof of that or if the account was stolen, the birthdate was known and still not always and in very rare cases, support itself, proofs needs to be involved, so you are very safe.

 

Do you need to be 18 to send/recive money?

 

According to the rules yes, but you can just enter a different birthdate.
But, you need to remember it, because you will need it very often.

 

Yes you do, but I suggest putting the account in a parents name to bypass it. They may ask you to send a photocopy of your ID like me. So I'm just waiting untill I'm 18, (this Saturday) Then I'll be using MoneyBookers a lot more!

 

Beware though guys, MoneyBookers are changing their brand name. Same company, I don't think they are changing hands. Hopefully they won't charge people either!

Are you charged the 2.9% + 0.29cents per transaction fee? Is there a way to get around that when receiving payments for an online store?

Seems like the fee's are the same as paypals when it comes to online stores, but you don't have to put up with all the paypals chargeback bullshit.

 

You need to pay the sending fee by yourself.
And if you pay via balance, it is lower.

I only use paypal but moneybookers is looking a bit better.

If I had $100 in my moneybookers account and bought something only for $20 how much would I had spent after fees?

That's a HUGE market there missing out on.

 

It is because USA Goverment, but maybe when Skrill come out this will get changed.

Edit : MoneyBookers(Skrill) changed a little bit, so I think now Americans can use it to send the money to other members.
