Mosquitoes.

I seriously hate mosquitoes; all they do is suck your blood and leave you with a bump that itches like crazy.
Do they even contribute to us in any way? Would the world be worse without them?

Please post methods on not being bitten/keeping them out of the house.

Of course the best way is to not open your windows, but we can't do that; we don't use airconditioners or fans in our house for air circulation. Of course we have mesh that's there to prevent mosquitoes from entering, but they always manage to find a way..

note: I just read an answer to my question, if we really need them. It was
Dragonflies eat mosquitoes. Frogs eat dragonflies. French people eat frogs. If it weren't for the French army's assistance, we would never have won the American revolution. Show some respect <=LMAO

There are tablets you can take that secrete a special kind of fluid from your sweats glands which deters the Mossies away. Ask your local PA for the insect repellent tablets. :) Goodluck!

There are candles that keep them away. I've even heard of mosquito repellent plants, but not sure how well they work.

What Dimethyl said is true, about the candles. They have 'em, and they worked. And about mosquitoes having a useful niche in ANY ecosystem? I've talked to my crazy smart Bio teacher, and he said that they really don't serve a real purpose. They are just good food for some really cool animals.

There's this canister of oily stuff that screws into a little device that you plug into the power that lets out some smell they hate or something.
It's called Sano-Mat but they might not have it in the US.

From what I've heard, the most effective natural mosqiuto repellant is Lemon eucalyptus oil. It's not hard to get either.

Also here is a site that lists several plants that can be used as mosquito repellant.

They are part of the food chain, if they didn't exist something down the lines would mess everything else up and eventually die off leaving everything else looking for a second option of food. At least that's the way I understood science class.

There is a thing that you can clip on that's like a fan and it blows mosquito replant in you'r general aria keeping them off of you. I've seen commercials for them. Looks promising.

Mosquitoes.

Whenever I go to Mexico, I always have this problem and it seriously pisses me off. All I hear is "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" at night and they don't let me sleep, they actually want to make me put the blanket over myself and leave me to suffocate and suffer.

I heard putting rubbing alcohol on you helps but I wouldn't suggest that for your face :p.

There are candles that you light and the aura from them smokes them away; they don't like smoke.

Good luck man!

but there's no guarantee that the smoke from the candles will be any good for you, either :(

Mosquitoes.

Interestingly enough; They do contribute to the ecosystem.

Even after reading the above quote myself; I still hate the critters.
They're constantly feasting on you and leaving those itching bumps, as you stated.
There are many methods to getting rid of them though.
The best long-term method would be to hire an exterminator.
If you cannot afford one; I suggest you look into 'Off!'.
