Obama supports Gay troops!

in my opinion if your not in the military then you shouldnt even have an opinion on this.
how can you tell if an idea is good or not if you have no affiliation with the military.
i think obama is using this to get the gay vote for the next election.
and i dont agree with repealling dadt.
if a gay man can shower in the same group showers, and sleep in the same tent as me then i should be able to do the same with women.

I like how people are paranoid about gay guys being around them. It's like dude chill out he never was checking you out, never wanted to check you out, just because their gay doesn't mean they check out every guy in their damn sight.

I am not a homophobe. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of gay/bi friends and they're pretty chill in my opinion.

My post means:
You either stand up for yourself, or don't.

There are more open gay people, and acceptance of them is growing. So if you want to live in the present and in the future, you better accept them too.

 

Obama already had the gay vote, and I completely disagree with you. The government works for you and me, the people. Standards set in the government reflect on our whole society. Most political philosophers would suggest that you would be a negligent citizen if you did not care about policies of the government or thought others shouldn't hold opinions on them.

 

I don't see the big deal. A republican might say that if they were liberal enough and knew it would get them votes...
Obama might get a boost though.

Right now I am less concerned about social matters and more concerned about economic matters. While everyone should like the president, and while this may make me "like" Obama more as a person because of his sensitivity towards people who are different than him, it does not change my opinion on his politics.

There are plenty of straight people who are emotional just like the stereotypical "gay." I'm not talking about women by the way =P. I do agree that their sexual preference does not affect their ability in combat, but I feel it is best kept silent. Just imagine this, there are plenty of people in the world who think being gay makes you different, so what's stopping troops (straight) from thinking the same way? What if they have less trust in their gay comrade than in a straight one? I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it can happen.

 

Simply put, God put everyone on this Earth for a reason. I'm not that holy myself, but that's what it comes down to. No need for a discrimination in the armed forces, of all things. They are risking their lives just like every other soldier.

 

Um Yay? I see no reason why him or any one else shouldn't support them. They are fighting for our country, why does their sexual interest matter?
